Anyone know someone interested in side mechanic work?

Depending on your time frame I'm up in northern CO and could take care of that stuff for you too.

    What do you carry?

It’s the u-joint that typically goes and in the process takes out the ears on the shafts. That being said running a front locker and 35’s on bead locks I’ve only broken 1 front shaft and that was going backwards up a steep muddy hill.

    What do you carry?

I carry spare shaft assemblies for both sides of the D30, a spare 8.25 shaft, a spare driveshaft that can be used front or rear, spare u-joints, spare heims to cover all of my steering, spare tire, plug kit, serpentine belt, drain pan, funnel, shop towels, hand cleaner, assortment of fuses...

What are you doing to your rig - the continuing saga

I went with the Full Force Diesel ones. They’re still just basic bellowed pipes that don’t need the gaskets anymore like the ones straight from International. I don’t think mine are leaking but with me getting ready to pull the turbo I figure I might as well just do it and theoretically never...

What are you doing to your rig - the continuing saga

Ordered up a 1.0 A/R turbine housing for my turbo, new updated up-pipes, an EBPV delete pedestal, and a Banks exhaust brake for the truck. Should make November’s trek to Moab that much more relaxed. Jeep is getting some love too. New drivetrain mounts, new water pump, new radiator, high flow...

WTB: interior vinyl or carpet set

Anyone have a full carpet or vinyl floor for an XJ? Preferably grey or black.

What are you doing to your rig - the continuing saga

Low speed like that is way harder on the trans because the torque converter can’t lock up. I don’t think an aftermarket converter will change that. The cooler will keep the temps down though. And bypassing that stupid thermostat valve on the cooler lines. That’s what I did on mine. It has a...

What are you doing to your rig - the continuing saga

My probe is in the exhaust manifold, so yeah it should be reading the hottest possible temps. I run my truck in a 60hp tow tune. On the hills where I had to turn off OD and slow down it was to keep it under 1300*, if it was a really long hill I adjusted my throttle to keep it right at 1200*...

What are you doing to your rig - the continuing saga

After a successful weekend in Moab I’m finally going to take care of my cracked exhaust manifold and do some other little maintenance items. The XJ made it through the 104+ days but it wasn’t exactly happy with it. On the bright side, my hydraulic assist worked wonderfully when locked on the...

Anyone have a car dolly I can borrow?

I could haul it too but it’ll be a bit. Motorcycle trip this weekend, Moab next weekend, and drill the weekend after that.

Imgur isn’t working for me anymore. Every time I try to go to my pictures it says there is an error. So no more picture posting for me unless it’s FB or the forum let’s you upload directly to it.

What are you doing to your rig - the continuing saga

Yeah, I did. It’s all tacked together and mostly welded. I need to start working on the powertrain and getting it mocked up in the chassis. I plan on working on it this winter. I’ve been focused on my motorcycle this summer.

What are you doing to your rig - the continuing saga

I went with a full PSC hydraulic assist kit and then cut a hole in my tailgate for the spare tire. Took the Jeep out to Bunce, Iron Clads, MSV, and Coney today. XJ performed great and we managed to do some plinking with the .22 as well. It was a good day.

    How good is the 8.25?

I've been down both paths and on my last 2 XJ's I stuck with the 29 spline 8.25 that came in them for 35's. I did a Liberty disc brake swap on one and am running a ZJ D44 disc brake swap on my current one. On both I stuck with the factory limited slip in the 8.25 for a little extra piece of...

    Colorado B/S Thread

Re: The Colorado BS thread Power steering pump is starting to howl on the XJ and with a zip locker and 35's steering can be a bit tedious too. I was thinking of doing a Durango box and WJ pump but wanted to get some thoughts on both upgrades. I don't think there is anything wrong with the...
