Yeah, the Novak motor mount bushings around the carriage bolts didn't last two thousand miles for me.
I looked in to using high duramometer urethane barstock to replace the rubber, but I dont think the keyhole shape in the frame side of the mounts will let any type of isolator last very long...
The only reason I questioned an access road in the middle of the trail is that I have seen alot of mention of two parts to the trail, but people must be describing half way is a good place to camp overnite.
If there is any chance of snow, I wont even attemt a run. We were originally planning on...
Hello all, Im am looking for some thoughts/input from the Sierra folks that have run the Rubicon on the feasibility of a day trip in early October.
I will be attanding the 40th in Moab and dont want to drive from Pennsylvania without trying to get as much out of the trip as possible. We have a...
This looks alot farther along that i thought! There is a whole lot more than a survey on that website, It looks like the trail map sytstem with ratings is already complete. Thanks for posting this.
It may only be a bandaid over other heat related problems, but the JKS upper shock conversions will get the bushings out of the engine compartment. There are better weld in versions, but quick bolt in would give you quick answers. I had to do them with my Cummins 4BT Comanche when I had the...
Is there any plans for a Crawl this year? I have a group of 5 rigs headed to Black Mountain July 1st thru the 3rd and was hoping to see some other XJ's out there too.

Unfortunately, we wont be making this weekend. The XJ is ready, but I'm buried in the shop and parts availability is killing every plan I attempt. We will see everyone at Rocktoberfest.
Im 90% sure we can be there, as long I can get time in the shop to sort out my unit bearing saga on the Rock Assault 9, and i also changed my mind on my gear ratio. I may have a JK Rubicon on 37's tagging along too.
Set of five, 315/75-16 tires and five OEM 2006 TJ Rubicon wheels. Includes centers caps, bead balanced, scratches on one wheel, only 35 miles on tires. Prefer pickup or meet halfway depending on distance. I could pallet and drop off at Estes terminal at buyer's cost for shipping. Located in...
For sale Smittybilt XRC 76851 rear bumper with fuel can and tire carrier. Fitted to my XJ and plans changed, so it never left the shop mounted. I do not have the original boxes or the rivet on quarter panel guards, but includes new/unsed fuel can. I would prefer pickup, or i could meet half way...
Ford Sale new in open box JKS 2700 Adjustable Coil Spring Mount with Adjustable Hydraulic Bump Stop kit for front of XJ, MJ, ZJ, and front OR rear of TJ and LJ. Increases ride height 1 3/8 - 3 3/4, easy leveling for for ride height. Removed from box and fit to vehicle, never been cycled...
91 style OHC and harness into 96 XJ. I think the 91 to 93 harness was the same and 95/96 were the same from the pics and part numbers i can find, with 94 unconfirmed. I had to change one connector on the harness to get it to work in my 96. The only reason i added the OHC is to cover part of the...
This is probably gonna seem like a dumb question, but, do the front map lights in the overhead console come on with the doors? I just had the compass module rebuilt due to it being burnt/dead on arrival from a eBay seller and just got it recovered and installed late last nite. The rear lights...
I have been on this forum for about 14 years, but didn't officially join NAXJA untill two weeks ago because of this thread. I am just finishing a very slow six year build on a 1996 2 Door that i would absolutely love to get to the Rubicon Trail. Lets keep this discussion going!
