    4.0 HO Intake Manifold Conversion

Yes, GoJeeps article is a 99 intake on a 91-98 XJ. My main focus is to upgrade the intake, and the TB will sort of be a bonus after-effect. I am aware of the TPS fitting issue, and I do have the link to Joe's write up on that. My concern is with using the correct gasket as a port grinding...

    4.0 HO Intake Manifold Conversion

I am curious if anyone has a link to a write-up to perform the upgrade from the Non-HO to the HO intake manifold. I could have sworn HESCO or Accurate Power had a write-up on this a year ago when I bought the parts for the conversion, but now I can't find it. If not, any advice on the process...

    I need a Dana 44 Front Axle!!

I need a COMPLETE D44 front axle for my 89 XJ. My current set-up uses the disconnect, but I prefer axle with non-disco. I also prefer 4:56 ring/pinion already installed, but will take any. SoCal seller is desired, however I will pay shipping provided the right sale price. I am located in...

    rough idle after long trips

I'm definately not an expert, but maybe a defunct IAT sensor? This sensor reads temperatures in the intake manifold, and adjusts the timing accordingly. Cooler temp = timing advance, Hotter temp = timing retard. Just a thought. Greg

    Electric Cooling fan?

Check out this web site: http://www.off-road.com/jeep/cherokee/98/06_jun/cooling/cooling1.html I did this exact conversion along with running my aux fan from a switch, and I can say this combo totally wiped out my overheating problems. I live in Southern California, and the heat here has...

    Hood Upgrade

I don't have a pic scanned in yet. I will get it up tomorrow if you want to see it. I'm not sure if I will sell it after I upgrade. I think having a spare might be a good idea...especially since the upgrade will be completely fiberglass. Off-roading is bound to take its toll on that puppy...

    Hood Upgrade

The weight increase I can feel when I lift the hood...atleast 8-10 lbs heavier. The scoop was custom constructed from a fiber glass hood for a Chevy 1500. They had to cut a section out from the middle of the that hood, then glue the remaining pieces together, with about a 3 inch overlap. This...

    MSD Coil

Who ever thought a simple question like this would spur so much talk. I believe there was one guy in all 23 responses that actually answered the question. Thanks to all for contributing something. BTW.. Coil upgrade is to compliment my MSD 6 ingnition. I'm not just buying the coil. I doubt...

    Hood Upgrade

I currently have a stock hood that has been modified with a fiber glass cowel induction scoop. I have cut out underneath the scoop to help vent heat and cool the rear of the motor. However, one thing I have noticed is that this upgrade has added a tremendous amount of weight to the front end...

    overheating

Why don't you guys just convert your aux. fan to run off a switch? I have done this on my Cherokee and it works like a charm. It's great for offroad use as well, as you can have it off or on depending on the conditions (IE ON at all times when crawling, or OFF when going through water).

    Portal axles on Cherokee?

I read that there are actually two ratio versions of the c303 axle...a fast and a slow. Fast is 5.97:1 while slow is 7.14:1. However, the "fast" ratio axles are very rare now, and may cost up to double of slow ratio ones. If someone did go through with this, I believe you guys are right... the...

    Portal axles on Cherokee?

I was just wondering if anyone has successfully installed portal axles on their Cherokee? If so, how much more might one expect to pay for such an upgrade in comparison to a Dana 44 or 60? I have read many articles pertaining to this upgrade, but have never seen it done to an XJ. I was also...

    MSD Coil

Does anyone know the correct part number for the MSD blaster coil that fits a 1989 Cherokee 4.0l? The MSD website has no application guide, so I have no idea of which one to get. Thanks

    Possible IAC or TPS problem?

I was wondering something about the TPS. The little lever on the TB side of the sensor that is caught by the adjuster bar on the actual TB... if you move that bar, is it supposed to make the car change its idle. I was just wondering, because mine doesn't. Tripp, This cruise control vacuum...

    Possible IAC or TPS problem?

Thanks for the response. I replaced my IAC valve yesterday, and that didn't solve the problem. I also checked the voltages on the TPS, and they tested good... my only other option now I guess would be to check the wire connections on the IAC and TPS for corrosion, and check vacuum lines for...

    Possible IAC or TPS problem?

As most of you with older cherokees have already experienced (or probably will soon), the reverse lights tend to stop working, or work infrequently, when put into the mentioned gear. With such a common problem, it was very easy to find a fix for this.....cleaning the NSS switch. After doing so...

    8" Long Arm Travel kits

I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with the SkyJacker 8" kit. How would you rate it vs. other kits, like Rusty's or Big Off Road's. Thanks.
