    Steering Box/Junkyard Upgrades

I understand the 93-98ZJ Steering Box and the '99 Durango V8 4X4 boxes are upgrades for the XJ. Does anyone know if there are any big reasons one is better than the other? Does one have quicker ratio, better turning radius, different plumbing, etc. over the other?

Anyone have a good fishing pole rack setup?

I built this out of 1/2" flat stock and did some simple bends in the vice to give me strength and places to mount. One point of contact on front bumper, one using existing bolt on my light bar, and a third short piece was tack welded to the main bar, it bends under the hood and attaches to the...

    Arb mini compressor location

Mine is mounted behind the drivers side front quarter panel. You have to take the panel off to do it, but once it's mounted it's out of the way utilizing wasted space.

So, I know, "not another radiator discussion."

I ran the 2670 2-row for a month and it was miserable. I was constantly running hot, in the Summer, dangerously hot. If you are going to do it, spend a few extra $$ on the 2671 and get the 3rd row.

    Disappearing coolant?

I had this recently with my 1987. It turned out to be the junction where the factory hose was crimped to factory piping right before the heater core. Slow drip that burned off on the engine.

Suggestions to do while motor is out

If you've ever thought about replacing your steering box now's the time to do it. You already mentioned upper control arm bushings, but might as well do the lowers as well. They are easier to replace when you can get your whole body in the engine bay.

    "87" 4.0 Intermittent stalling

I had a similar situation with my 87 stalling and then restarting after a half-hour to hour. Turned out to be the fuel sending unit. Don't know what was wrong with it, but when the mechanic replaced it, problem disappeared.

Where to Mount the ARB Compressor?? Interior? Engine Bay?? Install Tomorrow!

Mine is mounted behind the drivers side quarter panel with an air outlet coming through to the engine bay. It's a tight fit, don't think it would work for those with trimmed fenders.

Death Wobble: A 21 month saga. FIXED!

Re: Death Wobble: An 18 month saga. Need help still I have read that warped rotors can sometimes be the source of death wobble. Might be worth checking.

    What now?

Don't up-size beyond what you need. Extra slack in the line will end up getting caught up in the suspension and could lead to brake failure.

    D30 Inner C measurement

Bent mostly from years of abuse. Camber is off on drivers side, but bad on passenger. In addition to this the differential has a cracked lower and upper control arm mount on the passenger side, so I'm going to buy a used D30, box in the control arm mounts, gusset the C's and consider a truss...

    D30 Inner C measurement

Anyone have any idea what the inside to inside measurement should be for the inner C's on a D30? Both ends of mine are bent and when I shop the JY or CL I was hoping to be able to put a tape to them to at least be partially sure I'm getting a straight one.
