Joe Thanks for answering my thread you seem to be the only one that ever answers my threads! I havent check it with a gauge yet but im banking on bad bearings for the fact that I have a pretty substantial knock at start up and its there all the time now. where as before it would quiet down...
I know im gonna get crucified for even asking this but right now I just dont have the time or the money to do a full rebuild. But can I put new main bearings and rod bearings by just dropping the pan? I need to know cause this is my daily driver and Im suffering from a loss of oil pressure...
Joe all the cables were done last fall with 2 gauge welding cable and lugs. including that whimpy ground strap on the firewall. And upon further review this morning it is the NSS. It starts everytime in neutral but not in park. So Im gonna see if i can clean up the contacts or check the junkyard
My 90 xj recently sat for about 4 months. Now im driving it again. So I go get in it tonight turn the key and nothing happened no lights, radio, starter, dont recall if the fuel pump came on or not. Tried starting it in neutral and it didnt start right away. It rolled back a bit then I...
Ok heres what happened with my 90 renix when this happened. Open the hood and look at the starter relay one of wires on the post is for the lights. I just removed the nut and tried each wire till I found the one for the lights. I found it and replaced the ring connector on it. Put everything...
Just out of curiosity did you check the fuse for the radio? I believe that the radio and clock are on the same line. Also check the fuse on the back of the radio itself.
So I replace my shocks and as i was replacing them I broke one of the bolts off. So soaked the hole with penetrating oil for 3 days. So today I drilled the hole into the broken screw for the ez out. I put the ez out in a tap handle and twisted it into the hole and snap!!! SO now I have an ez...
the center pin definitely sheered off. I have 6 degree shims in on the bottom of the pack. My problem now is finding a replacement center pin. The drive shaft yoke is undamaged. When it fell out I was in a parking lot and had just gone over a speedbump.
i have a 1990 cherokee on 4.5in lift with 33's. So some how my rear axle shifted backward on the driver side causing my drive shaft to put out of the transfer case. The t case is a 231 and rear axle is a D35. When i crawled under the truck i noticed that the shock was busted at the mount...
When you get the CPS make sure its a dealer part!!!!! For some reason my jeep hated autozone and advance auto CPS sensors. Also when you put it in make sure the wiring is up off and away from the exhaust manifold. If it touched the manifold it probably melted through.
If it still reads 4.8v even when warm then yes I would say its bad. Its definitely a start. Replace it. If it doesnt fix the problem then there is something else wrong as well.
Do yourself the favor and get one from a dealership! I went through 3 of them from my local advanced car store. It was all fine and dandy and I can swap those suckers out in 10minutes flat now, but when I had to replace them it was january. no garage and a lot of cold frost bitten finger tips!
My 90 would lose headlights but when it happened every light in that circut went out which was head lights, tail lights, console lights, dash lights, and brake lights. It ended up being a loose connection at the power distribution block. I just cut the connector off and crimped a new one on...
