After I sell my RV, I'm planning a beater XJ project and will renew my NAXJA membership. I might even find a 2WD XJ and build it as a pre-runner for the desert. The kid is trying to move back to Sacramento and will have his 2001 XJ that he's wheeled for the past 10 years. He likes to hold on...

I've been through a few Jeeps in the past couple of years, so I figure I'd post a pic or two to old Frog Blog. I've been searching for another XJ project but have been disappointed in the high price for all the crap that's out there, at least in the SoCal area. Knowing that, I wish I had kept my...

    99 XJ for sale

I sold my 99 about 2 years ago and regret it despite loving my 05 LJ Rubicon 10x more. I am in the market for another XJ so let me know if you still have this jeep.

Ive been through the Rubicon on 31s before and swore i'd never do that again. I don't need to drag my ass over every rock for entertainment. Ill leave that for you younger guys.

I saw the SC posting for Sierra Fest, but I'll be in the Swamp Lake area on a Cal4WDC run a few weeks later. I'm not set up for the Rubicon yet and am not sure I'll be done with the lift and tires until later in the year.

Here's a few shots of my trailer. It was a fun build and great to haul to Moab.

Just a few pics to update the old FB. I've been wheeling local SoCal trails and made a few trips to Moab over the past year, and have been busy building the LJ and off road trailer. I'm getting ready for lift, tires, and shocks sometime in 2017. My son moved down here a few months ago and we've...

What would you pay for my XJ?

I only got 9300 for my '99 and I had just added the LA lift, rebuilt diff's with ARB and Grizzly lockers and a ton of other upgrades. Add up your parts and figure 40 to 50% of that value. You'll likely never be happy but if its time to move on, don't look back. Good luck.

I'm running trails down here in Moab for Easter Jeep Safari and I just ran into the Frog, my beloved 99 XJ. Kevin, my kid, was following me in his Green Machine and turned around to take some pics. The Frog now sports Utah plates, new leds, and a baby seat, and looks great. I'm bummed that the...

Bear Trailersports typically sells the base trailer for $3500 on their website, plus wheel, tire, axle, paint, etc upgrades. I paid $2500 including $800 in upgrades, so I believe I got a great deal. I'm heading to Mt Piute this weekend on it's maiden run. I built a utility box to hold fuel...

I picked up a Trailgater off road trailer from Bear Trailersports last week. This thing is fully welded, powder coated, equipped with a 3500 lb torsion axle, 33" KO2s, recessed LEDs, welded D-rings, 2" rear hitch, tailgate, Lock & Roll hitch, and plenty of other options. I'm having a rack built...

Ah Que Dicha - Death Valley/Panamint Valley 2015

We camped next to the authors of the Wells guidebooks last March at Moab. Good guys. I think they might have one of the best jobs on the planet. Despite my begging, they did not hire me, but at least he signed my Moab book.

    2016 Easter Jeep Safari (Moab)

You'll want to do some research on where to stay, as camp sites and hotels are likely booked solid. In fact, we have to move RV sites three times while there. All trails have been sold out since the first few days registration opened. I'm staying a few days after the event so I can run some...

Ah Que Dicha - Death Valley/Panamint Valley 2015

Tons of trails in the Panamint/DV area. During Cal4Wheel's Panamint Valley Days last November, I ran Pleasant Canyon and loved every second of it. Its not a tough trail, but the scenery is incredible. There is lots of open camping in the Panamint Valley desert, so we will head back there every...

    2016 Easter Jeep Safari (Moab)

It will take me a long time to wear down these tires, and I'll wait to do that before adding a taller lift and new set of 35's. I doubt I'll put as much into this rig as past Jeeps, so mild is the word I'll stick with.
