    skid plate ?

Don't waste the plate though. I coverted mine into a xfer case skid that covers from frame rail to frame rails. Directions: 1. Cut the mounting end tabs down about 3/4" the way down 2. Weld 3x3x1/4 angle on each side. (flat side up) 3. Drill and mount angles along the frame You have to flip it...

    Firestone Destination M/T

I know many people who run the other "popular brands" and I almost took the dive myself... however, I have been running these MT's over a year now (33x12.5) and they are just plain awsome!! no regrets. People ask me all the time on the trails about them because they "see" them working on the...

    Blinkers stuck "on"

Check the Alternator & Battery- ASAP!! Had the same probs for about 2 days then the Alternator died. She ran off the battery for a good while, which made the blinkers solid and the wipers slow.

    XJ D44 years?

These XJ44 rears are getting harder and harder to find in good shape and unwheeled. Look for 87-88s with tow package. Most come 3.54 gears and trac-locs. They will run you anywhere from 150- 400 depending on if the seller knows what he has. I picked up a low mileage one for $350 drum to drum...

    Dana 44 Experts

personally, I would toss the trac-lock and put the money into an Detroit EZ locker for that D44. I'm told trac-locks only work 1/2 the time anyway on the trials due to the design.

    Boiling coolant issues!!

I second the Radiator, my 87 was all about overheating (highway, trails) until I replaced that POS clogged unit. Replace it with a new 3-Core along with the water pump, coolant bottle, cap, and regular "Green Antifreeze", not that Dex junk.

    Smoking XJ

Sounds like a bad case of Blow-By to me. I had this happen out on the trails. XJ was on a tilt for like 10min on some rocks. Oil got sucked into the air filter fromt he CCV, atomizing into the TB and....Boom... Smoke centural! Clean valve cover, clean hoses, gromets, etc., and reassemble.

    D44 Help / Advice

"A c-clip axle is always a c-clip axle (8.25)" I recently did the D44 swap from the D35 after about 2 years of hard action. Depends on how much wheeling you are doing and on what types of courses. The 8.25 is a pretty damn strong axle, but will leave you out hanging when it breaks. It's...

can I fix exhaust pipe leak myself

if its on the flat (meaning you can cut out the section and splice on the horizontal) then give it a shot. Use a saws-all or cutting wheel and remove the damaged section. Its basically 2.25ID pipe and 2" clamps if you don't have an Oxy-Acet torch to weld up the ring. *Remember to take a piece...

    Thinking....How to install RE6130?

I highly suggest getting someone with some mech experience to aid you in the process if you have any doubts about installing these kits. I mean you prolly spent 1000bux and the last thing you want to do hack the final install. The RE systems are pretty complete (i.e.6130), but you have...
