    Modified serpentine belt routing

If your idler pulley decides to bite the dust or the mounting bracket bolt hole threads get accidentally stripped when you replace the pulley, there's an easy solution. Get rid of the pulley altogether and reroute the belt. Of course this means you'll need a shorter belt. The stock '92 XJ belt...

    My Custom I6 Stroker Exhaust

Not one to rest on my laurels for long, I decided to modify my exhaust yet again to extract a few more ponies. I had done some exhaustive research :D on the subject and came up with a simple formula to calculate optimum exhaust pipe size based on flywheel horsepower output. From the formula, I...

Those of you who own '99+ 4.0 WJ's, XJ's, and TJ's who've been affected by this problem, please post the mileage on your engine when the head was discovered to be cracked and the build date of your Jeep (check stamp on driver's door). I'd like to compile a database of Jeeps affected by head...

    Traction Bar

Last week I had a custom rear traction bar installed on my Jeep and so far I'm very happy with the result. Since then I've tried several hard launches from a dead stop and not once could I induce wheel hop. I used to be able to do it almost without trying and I was worried about breaking a rear...

I'll get the ball rolling: 6700 miles Budget home-built 4.6L stroker, cherry-picked parts No problems, but have ticking rockers when engine hot. Goes like a bat out of hell. ______________________ (Admin Edit: Please see forum rules regarding signatures)

    NP231 to NP242 swap

Has anyone done this swap on a 4.0 XJ with an AX15 5-speed? If so, was it straightforward and are there any "gotchas" to look out for? I have a '92 XJ with a 4.6L stroker and I'd like the option of full-time 4WD for better traction on dry pavement, especially when I want to make a fast launch...

4.0 main cap girdle retaining nuts torque?

I know the main bearing cap studs should be torqued to 80lbft but does anyone know what the girdle retaining nuts are supposed to be torqued to? This applies to '96+ 4.0 engines.

Latest pics of my homebrew FIPK

Feast your eyes on these: Unlike K&N's FIPK, the filter is sealed off from underhood heat at all angles so at anything over 25mph, the intake air temp. is the same as ambient. The whole contraption cost me only $60 ($48 was for the filter) so that's a major saving over the K&N FIPK...
