The cat is cold when the engine has been running and I have gone some distance. When I had the muffler checked, they felt the converter and it was not hot.

When I pull into my garage and turn the engine off, I smell a strange smell I cannot identify. I have had the muffler checked and it is okay. the catalytic converter appears to be blown out. No leaks or spills. It smells like burnt something (maybe antifreeze)? Any ideas?

The compressor and whole system is shot according to a mechanic I use. They recommend replacement with a kit, basically the whole system. Very expensive.

I know that the Cherokee is a brick moving through air, but has anyone found ways to decrease the wind noise. It is particularly windy in this part of the world and the noise is annoying.

I know I will catch hell for this, but does anyone know of aftermarket cupholders for XJ's? I have the accessory screwdown type that sit over the hand brake in front of the center armrest--great for coke cans but nothing else.
