Still haven't caught this thread up with what's going on. The cage and suspension is finished. Dash layout is mostly figured out. We're trying to keep it so most of the gauges and controls can be reached by either of the occupants. Hardly any of the factory wiring is staying. e.g. Engine...
Some of the basic differences I notice are. Suspension travel, more up travel for the go fast. Body armor/mods go fast guys usually don't need rocker protection or other body armor. Rock crawlers usually don't run fiberglass panels. Cage work is different also, go fast usually entails more tube...

While all this building was going on. We met and got a couple really cool sponsors. Raceline wheels came on board stronger than I ever expected. I got to say those Monsters look super sexy with sticky BFG's

Once it was a roller, off to Element Metals it went.
Once there we started working on the cage, half doors, etc.
Got the general paint scheme together.
Once the frame stiffners and body mods were done.
Next suspension. The plan is for leaf sprung rear using '02 F150 leafs for now. With the current setup we have about 12" travel, we're looking for 14. I'm sure we have it figured out. But that's for a later date.
Rear axle is a late model...
With everything cut out of the rig we started building the rig to our desires. The plan is to keep it leaf sprung in the rear and a three link in the front with coilovers. Luckily one of the guys on the build isn't only a co driver but he's a design engineer so we got our own custom cut...
