Bread ties will be your friend. Use a few of them to hold the gasket to the pan, put pan in place, start a few studs, cut/remove bread ties, and button her up. Works like a charm. Good luck.
Thanks guys. Do you know whether my TCU in my 2wd will work with the 4wd AW4? I am getting the one from the 97 if needed, but if there compatible, that's one less thing that could go wrong.
I appreciate it. I have a Jeep only junkie around here that I am going to give a shot. Unfortunately, they are not a u-pull and are proud of there junkyard parts. I once priced an electric fan for my XJ there and they wanted $75. I can get that same fan new for $65 shipped. Anyway, if that...

Its called a transmission cooler line and I think that is the return line. It cycles trans fluid through the radiator to keep it cool. Anyway, I think that one is the return line and you can buy it at most auto part stores...
I have the EXACT same noise at winter cold startup and as the engine warms it becomes much quieter and a more marbely, if that's a word, noise. Anyway, I also assume that its sticky lifters and have started adding a quart of MMO with 5 quarts 10w30 every oil change. My oil pressure at startup is...
You dont need to pull out the mech fan or shroud to pull the radiator. You need a standard socket set and torx screwdrivers to pull the header brace and hood latch, a vise grip or flat head to pull the hoses depending on what clamps are used, a big adjustable crescent wrench to get the upper...
I used the one already in there, in that, it did not show any significant damage. I oriented the narrow end the damper towards the timing chain. Is that correct? Also, what are the slots/circles for on the back of the damper?

Need some help on a noisy timing chain.
Specs.: 1996 Jeep Cherokee Country 2wd
Mileage: 170k
Recently replaced my front crank seal and noticed a great deal of slack in the timing chain. Decided to replace with an OEM Cloyes timing chain since I was in there. Ever since replacement, the...
In my case, I just replaced them all. I mean it's a 14 year old vehicle and the seals and gaskets are pretty cheap. I still need to replace my timing cover seal which is now leaking. :firedevil
There are really two other oil leaks that can mimic a RMS.
1. Oif Filter Adapter leak - Check where the oil filter adapter mates to the engine block and make sure its not leaking from there. Also, make sure that the oil filter itself is tight in the adapter and not leaking. If the issue is...
You say that it seems to be leaking from the exhaust manifold stud. Is it possible that you overtorqued that stud and cracked the head near the water jacket? Just guessing.
My experience has been that autozone rotors suck. I have had 2 sets of rotors warp in a very short period of time after installing them. Ever since, I have bought my rotors from Napa.
There's two o2 sensors. One on the downpipe and one after the cat, unless you have a california-emissions xj which has three o2 sensors. Cali or not, I think there is only one o2 after the cat.
