I have to keep this stuff for now, as this is under review by the Better Business Bureau. If it doesn't work out, I'll sell it off. -Again, thanks for the support.
Shelby: I'm in. I just paid up for the year. I couldn't afford a two or three year because of Rusty's. Ok, ok, I'm done bitching...
Altered: I never got upset or even raised my voice with them.
All I ever asked was for them to accept it as a store return for another item. I couldn't even get that far, the guy cut me off mid sentence and said he won't take it back. If anything, they should be heeding your advise, not me. I...
Thanks for the replies. I had a feeling that more dissatisfied customers would come out of the woodwork on this thread. As I am relatively new to this board, I had no idea that this was a regular thing with Rusty's.
I've got the BBB looking into resolving this issue.
You're right! $317 IS a ripoff. But when you have the truck apart and you have to get rolling, well, that's what you have to do.
I suppose I could look at it this way: New Moog steering parts plus a large, unattractive paper wieght: $646.00
That's a new rifle, a new whitewater kayak, a new set...
I'll sell this thing to anyone who can actually use it....Cheap.
I should get *something* out of it.
Customer service is everything in this industry. We're modifying vehicles here, and problems are the norm. How you, as a company handle these problems is paramount.
Discarding the old...
So I bought the SC-250 tie rod conversion from Rusty's and after mounting up the tie rod I found that it made contact with the track rod mount bolrt at the axle at about 4/5 through the right hand turn. This was last Friday and there was nobody at Rusty's because they were all at a show or...
I've seen offset ball joints for the D30 to adjust camber, but I don't know if these work for Cherokees. I do know that they don't come from the factory that way, but perhaps the guy who did yer balljoints used the adjustable variety?
It sounds like a bent housing to me...Keep us posted.
I got the Conversion with part #SC-250 only to find that it strikes the track bar axle mount short of a locked turn to the right.
What a let down.
I'll be sending it back next week. I just bought factory parts to replace my worn out gear. I dunno if my truck is a special case or what, but...
I used OME 2" Medium Duty rears and was stunned by how much vibration I got. Rusty told me that no driveline mods would be needed when I bought the springs. This based on his experience, I suppose.
So I dropped the T-Case and degree shimmed the rear. The vibes got worse, and grew over a wider...
It's an ass ache but if your halfway skilled you can do it. Get all yer sh*t together: parts, manual and torque specs. Have a buddy help you lift the head, it wieghs somthing like 70#.
Be sure to label all parts. head bolts and pushrods need to go back where they were.
Be super, super clean...
Well, how's THIS for bizarre!?!?!
The noise was being created by a fuel pump loose in the tank. Not THE fuel pump, but another separate fuel pump connected to absolutely nothing!
All I can figure is... well... I can't think of a single reasonable explanation for this. Did a previous owner...
Thanks guys, I checked it out and all seems ok suspension wise. The sound is definately coming from inside the tank. I found a way to reproduce the noise in the shop.
I'm pulling the tank out asap.
I smacked a tree in a campground in reverse hard enough to dent the bumper and DS bracket in...
I did a bunch of searches and checked a few items to no avail.
Here it is: A 2000 sport, 8.25" w/ '98 zj discs (salvage), 2" OME springs @ med rate. New TW driveshaft, edelbrock extreme non - res shocks, JKS BPE.
Ever since I did the new springs the truck developed a thump in the rear and it...
to clarify, I already have the milemarker kit and I am happy with it. Since my rig is almost street-only, the MM kit works fine. I'll never be running more than a 29" wheel, I hate mud and there's no rock crawling here in Ohio. This is a go-fast truck. It's purpose is to fly down the highway and...
For what it's worth, I'm using a Tom Woods shaft. I don't mind paying for the good stuff if I don't have to worry about a catastophic failure. It's all-new as opposed to a re-shafted/welded/rebalanced front shaft off of God-knows-what.
I need to replace the wheel bearings on my MM hub setup.
2000 XJ - MM kit# 33-50020
Here's the thing. I don't want to pull the hubs apart to figure out the part #'s of the bearings/races. I am in a position where I need to have the parts in hand before I start.
MileMarker is clueless, I...
