How exactly do you engage the fulltime 4wd. I put my jeep in N and engage the 4wd to high in order to get the part time 4wd. But what about fulltime, or does all models have fulltime? 99 xj sport 4.0
Few days ago I noticed smoke and a loss of oil but couldn't find any leaks. Today I found the leak but don't know exactly where it's comming from.
It located on the driver's side somewhere under the exhaust manifold.
Anyone know exactly where it's comming from? Will it be expensive to fix...
I know My 99 XJ isn't a sports car but when I'm on the freeway I have to turn the wheel a hell of alot when steering winding roads to get a response which feels a little dangerous.

No can't say I bumped anything. The XJ had this problem when I first got it. None of the electrical would work but the lights would come on, That's about it. Then I read the key code thing and I can say with out a doubt that it resest my electrical. What exactly caused it Is what I'd like to know?
99xj 4.0 / I went for a ride last night and stop at a local store I was going to be in and out so I decided to keep her running. When I got back I noticed that the temp gauge was up and raising from about 195 to 215 and might have went up more If I didn't start driving.

My shocks on my 99 xj I don't think have ever been changed. I want to replace them but I'm wondering should I replace the springs along with them?
Also are all shocks the the same like gas/air etc.
I recently changed some NGK plugs out of my 99 XJ SPORT 4x4 that had been in my XJ for 3 and some years to the cheapest Autolites the parts store had.
It seem like the 3 year old burned-up Ngk's run stronger than the brand new autolites, but the autolites give better gas mile. Makes me how...

When the guy at the oil change place changed it, it look like tranny fluid drained from it. When he replaced it, it look different than tranny fluid.
