I have a 1990 Jeep cherokee limited with what I think is a rebuilt engine (4.0). On average, I get about 200 miles to a tank. This is just not going to cut it with how much gas is costing these days. Im just not sure what could be causing this. I think the o2 sensor is due for replacement...

Thats what I meant. I didnt want any byproducts or nitrogen compounds in my engine that will hinder performance.

So your engine ran fine without it? Thats good, I just wanted to make sure that running the engine without the egr wouldnt leave unwanted carbon deposits. Is this so?

I have recently rehooked up my EGR valve, as it was disconnected before due to my vaccuum lines melting. Anyhoo, We hooked it back up and got it to pass emissions. But, the egr is sticking and there is a very noticeable hesitation around 1000 rpm. When we disconnected the egr and plugged the...

what exactly does this transducer do? Also, we took it to the parts store, and they had no idea what it was. Also, how much am i looking at for a new egr and transducer? Also, which part store do you reccomend? thanks jake

Hmmm, well that makes sense. However, the engine runs fine besides the hesitation. Actually, its never run better, besides the hesitation. I am thinking that it is something really simple that be solved. jake

Hey, im not really sure what you mean. It was unhooked because the vacuum lines melted. Yes, there was a round black plastic thing that melted too, is that what your talking about?

Im sorry, I COMPLETELY forgot to put what engine I have. Its a 1990 cherokee limited with the 4.0. The only weird thing is, when the egr wasnt hooked up, there was just open vacuum line. Now there is the weird hesitation at idle after more vacuum is being used. Thanks eagle. :worship: Anyone...
