    Aw4 adapters (SBC?)

that one should work since it's for a the AMC th400 and it as well as the AW4 have no removable bellhousings because they are autos i would assume it's a thin plate. try calling Advance adapters tomorrow they were always very helpful when i called with questions

On and Off-Road: Gears, Tires, one man's Dillema!

who ever told you that you won't be able to go 60 with 4.56s and 31 is full of crap. my dad had an old willy's cj-2a with stock tires and stock (5.38) gears and could do 60 and he didn't have overdrive. you may be running a little higher than ideal rpm's but 60 will not be a problem

    Aw4 adapters (SBC?)

any adapter that would allow a jeep or AMC tranny to an SBC should work because while its true that the AW4 is a toyota tranny it's case has the same pattern on the engine side as any other jeep tranny, such as the tf999 or tf727 (jeep versions)

    Another homebrew Longarm setup

if your making it a radius arm style longarm (like TnT and RE) you should put the joint on the frame end if you want it to be effective at all. Radius arms bind by definition and need the give of the rubber bushings on the axle end or it won't flex

    suspension ?

Re: suspention ? -Its spelled suspension -the cherokee came with a 4-link on the front from the factory and plenty of people have designed rear 4-links -Whether or not you need long arms depends on many things(how high are you lifting it, what type of wheeling do you do, budget)

muffler man bent 3 front pipes, all went into trash

is your jeep stock height if you want a unbent pipe you need bigger bumpstops which will lose travel in a stock height jeep

    242 issues

if you have a later model non-CAD d30 you will feel the vibes regardless of what the t-case is in because the driveshaft is always spinning. the vibrations probably going to be cause by the pinion angle: the front drive shaft has a cv joint on the transfercase side to get rid of vibes but the...

    Running Claws Backwards

it's not that they have a lack of lateral traction but that like all directional mud tires they are designed to push the terrain to the outside so they can dig in to the harder stuff, so flipping them makes them pull the terrain to the inside keeping them on the obstacle

    shackeless traction bar

alot of trucks just use link with one attachment point on each side of it but you have to make sure it is on the opposite side of the axletube as the leaf spring(in this case it has to be mounted on the bottom) to really be effective. this way you dont need a shackle

    Machining wheel spacers/adapters

the reason no body makes them is that i believe the lugs end up overlapping and their is no possible way of rotating the pattern so none of them overlap

    axle trussing

actually a bottom truss is better because when you land the truss has a tension force on in instead of the compression force that would cause it to buckle when it is on top. the only reason people do a top truss is for ground clearance or a place to mount their links

    f-250 8.8?

the 8.8 is used in the 1/4 ton vehicles (explorers) the f250 is a 3/4 ton and as far as i know does not use the 8.8. if it did they would be snapping parts all the time from the weight of the truck and the power of the engine

    Aftermarket Baja Fenders

    Radius Arms on the Highway

the caster problem is only bad as the suspension gets close to full compression or drop. there are very very very few times that this occurs while driving on the road(and if it does you are probably doing something your not supposed to anyway) so the change in caster while on the road is not...

    been having some problems lately

my dads diesel sputters like you mentioned and he asked a few mechanics and they all said that it is that the torque convertor is glazed and sputters when it locks up all the mechanics said it is normal and usually happens in colder weather

    Down pipe

banks only offers a down pipe for wranglers, it will not fit on a cherokee unless you modify it. borla has one but it will only work with their header because it uses a slip joint instead of the ball flange i asked this same question a couple weeks ago and nobody knew where i could get one...
