I will be purchasing and installing a sye with my re 4.5 lift. I have searched and read some threads on other sye installs and it seems like a very managable install. However I do have a few very basic questions that have not been answered.
1. do i need a new drive shaft with the install of a...
every time that i turn the heat on (espically the front drfroster) i get hit in the face with a wave of moldy, musty, mildewy smell. its almost nausiating (i hope that inhaling that is not bad or harmful by the way...is it?). So what should i do to get rid of this smell.
Would I have to pull...
Alright maybe i should have started a new thread because I already have the center consol out and that is no longer an issue. the issue now is what to do with the passenger floor pan which is 75% rusted and has a hole near the cross bracket where the seat mounts.
I dont know whether to get...
alright sorry I have been away from the forums for so long but i need more advice. If i was to cut out all of the rust more then half of the floorpan would be missing. so where does that leave me? Also along with that the cross member to which the seat bracket attaches has a rust hole through...
alright now that i have the carpet up and out i have discovered a few things. First the Driver side is in perfect condition...no rust at all. second ther passenger side is about as bad as it could be. ther entire thing is rusted out. In addition to the rust there is also a 2" hole right infornt...
I obiviously know that there are screws that need to be removed. I am talking about how do get the pieces over the shifter and 4 wheel drive lever and the e break lever. I have a 1998 Cherokee by the way.
So i have the screws out and teh plastic piece for 4 wheel drive...I pulled that off and...
so im driven home from a day of snowboarding and less then 50 yds in front of me i see some guy in a ricer, who is in the wrong lane, try to drive through a little snowboank to get into the correct lane. he hits the foot and a half snowbank at 65 like a brick wall and stops dead. a van then...
yea i still havent looked at the drums but i am pretty confident that it is not them, and my reasoning is this... if I slam on the breaks in the snow the tires will lock up and there will be no grinding, however if i get on the breaks on dry pavement and the nose dips then there is a grinding...
Well i did not check out the rear drums this weekend because of the sub zero temps and my garage was full of crap.
However I discovered that the grinding happens whenever the car gets off axis. If I make a hard turn and the car rolls to one side then it will make the grinding sound...If I hit...
alright new developments...While driving on a rough road today i hit a bump and heard a scraping sound. Maybe this goes along with the noise and grinding when the nose dipps??
Also my suspension is extremely crappy...completely stock. sagging terribly. old shocks. its sucks so that may have...
no i dont have an sye and the drive shaft is not too old either...I am also leaning more towatds the drums but to be sure ill have to check it out this weekend
Well i just finished my header install this weekend and have a new 2.25 in exhaust with a flowmaster super 40 muffler.
So as it goes with my jeep I am on to the next problem.
I first noticed whatever is goen on about a week ago while driving in the snow in four wheel drive. under hard breaking...
alright well i think what i am going to do is head up to advance auto and pick up some flexible exhaust line and just rout that towards the back of the car. I will just tie if off to the rear sway bar or drill a little hanger into the underside of the car. I think that should work
I am 4 hours away from cincinnati. all i have is the stock down tube so it is away from teh gas tank and i dont think the fuel line will be an issue.
How would I monitor if co or co2 is getten into the cab. i have an electric one at my house but it didnt give me an accurate reading when i...
My exhaust was ripped off of the car 3 days ago and I was planning on driving to cincinnati this weekend to replace the whole system.
My dad was at the dealership today tlking to the mechanics and they said that they did not recomend making the trip because the engine would eb running...
