    99 Cherokee AC Leaks Freon

I just had lots of work done on my a/c system. Took 4 trips to the shop before it now seems to be holding a charge. Finally turned out that the culprit was the evaporator. The system would hold a vacuum even though the evaporator was leaking. Try using the sniffer in the condensation drain...

    Difference between "NP231 J" and "NP231 D"

I just got a set of Gearwrench brand ratcheting wrenches. They are barely bigger than non-ratcheting ones, and are very nice. I highly recommend them. I think sears sells them. If I remember correctly, craftsman only makes 'heavy duty' ones, with big, bulky heads and large spacing between...

    Thinking about a '98: Oil pressure ?'s

well, the salesman called me yesterday and told me that they changed the oil from a 5w-30 to a 10w-40 and now the oil pressure is 15-16 psi at a warm idle. I'm going to go and check it out as soon as I can (unfortunately, the dealer is an hour away).

Cracked Manifold / Cherry Red Cat

definitely sounds like a clogged cat to me. If you look into a catalytic converter, it is a ceramic honeycomb, and a pretty fine one at that. It doesn't take much to clog it. If that happens, it will overheat, possibly melting, and you will notice a decrease in power. Here's a picture of cat...

    Thinking about a '98: Oil pressure ?'s

Hey Everyone, I just joined, because i am in the process of searching for a used Cherokee. I just drove one tonight ('98, 4.0, 86k) that seemed very solid, but I was a little concerned about the oil pressure. While driving, it was a steady 40 psi according to the dash gauge, and at hot idle...
