Duh. I didn't follow any particular procedures, but after a brake job I try to take it easy for a few miles before I make any hard stops. Both the front rotors and rear drums were almost new. I replaced the front pads with ceramic ones because of the huge amounts of brake dust the old pads...

I lapped all the valves and replaced the valve seals. The valves in cyls 1 and 6 had HORRIBLE contact patterns and took a lot of lapping.
