Those are 1 1/2" solid stock that are 8" long and welded all the way to the back side and welded on both sides of the face. They won't be going anywhere.
I welded mine up tonight, got it ground and flapped. In addition to some more picture detail it might be a good idea to include a weldment drawing so you don't have to spend an hour figuring out the correct way of setting it up to weld.

My problem was with what was added to the carcass. The carcass was/is still good. The remanufacturer claimed that there was a problem with the compound that the recap was made of. Might not have been enough UV inhibitor.

I recieved email notification that the replacements have been shipped.
That was in nine days instead of the three weeks they thought it might take to be manufactured and deilvered.
Now waiting on the new wheels to go along with the tries
It was more about what I never expected, two years with the dry cracking. I liked the tires when I got them and will be pleased to run them again if what was said about the compound not being correct when manufactured is true.
