I'm changing the ball joints and brakes in a few weeks. my drivers side knuckle is buggered for the brake pad slides. what years and models can I grab at the wrecker that will bolt right in with my hubs and brakes?
thanks
what year and model XJ has the heaviest (thickest) front sway bar? have to change my mount bushings so I might as well get the strongest set up from the wreckers.
I've been reading alot lately about the benefits of drop brackets. since I went to over 4" I've had steering issues. maybe this is a way to get back to close to stock steering feel. is anyone running drop brackets with say WJ LCA's? or I think some ZJ lca's had a clearance bend in them as well...
just got an ALP-1 sirius box to connect to my alpine head unit. its a bit bigger than I thought. has anyone mounted one in an early('90) XJ? and not just screwed it to the top of the dash! I'm a bit of a freak that way.its got to be a tidy and secure install.
thanks
so from what I can see the only difference between these two is the type of bushing on the lower control arm. along with one of these lifts I want to install some fixed upper control arms as well. these have a rubber bushing. should I stick with the 6025 and keep the bushings the same or go with...
RE uppers, did you notice any difference after the install? overall a positive mod?
AX-15, mine needs new syncros. how difficult is it to disassemle one and have new rings pressed on? does this just open a can of worms? or should I just look for a 3550? and would one bolt up to the 231 in my...
finally got around to installing it tonight, or trying to install it. all the holes and studs line up but there is too much poly material for it to fit properly. I would have to trim about 3/8" of poly material off the foward end for it to fit. anyone else have this problem?
last year I put a steering box from an '00 on my '90. it was buggered so it was replaced with another box from an '00. both of these replacement boxes came with the pitman arms attached. at the same time the Y linkage was replaced with V8 ZJ components. ever since the first box was installed I...
heres a list of what I've got on my '90 so far. 3" springs with a 1" spacer. V8-ZJ drag link and tie rod. CROK inner and outer plates. a low mile box from an '00. RE1600 trac bar and an OME stabilizer. just replaced the steering shaft and had it aligned. I've got a m.o.r.e steering box brace...
'90 xj with 4" of lift. instead of replacing a worn tie-rod end I installed a drag link and tie rod from a '98 V8 grand. immediatly it was having bump steer issues. I thought at first because I tightened up the steering linkage I was feeling play/slop in other components. installed an RE 1600...
has anyone taken a washer bottle from a later model( the one that mounts forward between the inner and outer fender) and installed it in an earlier model? such as my '90? it would clear up a nice spot for my accessory fuse box and relay block. not to mention it wont fit since my clutch master swap.
well,I now have all the parts exept for a clutch slave cyl. I'm looking for a s/c that will bolt into a '97 up bell but is not part of a one-piece combo. are the '94-'96 slaves compatible for this? anyone have a picture? gonna be nice to be able to shift smooothly again.
someone on here posted a pic of their red xj hood with lebaron vents. I've searched and cant find the pic again. they were installed parallel to the centre line and painted red like the hood. trying to find it to motivate my bodyman brother.
going for the external slave swap on my '90. I dont want to use the one-piece non-bleedable factory unit. I've got a howe racing m/c set up like old man did. now I need to find a slave that is bleedable and will bolt in. I called AA and the toyota landcruiser unit they use fits their custom...
