98 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo V8 Mildly Modified

1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo This Jeep has been nothing but reliable for me, has taken 2 trips to the dunes and 2 to go two-tracking. Nothing serious, it is my daily driver and I have treated it as such. Just getting bored with it. 193,000 miles 5.2L V8(replaced at some point, no specifics)...

XJ C-ROK Steering Box Brace + Pass. Side Reinforcement *NIB*

Nobody need brackets to build a bumper off of?

XJ C-ROK Steering Box Brace + Pass. Side Reinforcement *NIB*

Like the title says, I've got a C-ROK Steering Box Brace kit, new in box, never painted or used. I also made up an identical(minus the C-ROK logo and the part that wraps under to the sway bar mounts) plate for the passenger side as well out of 1/4" steel and a punch and shear. Includes all...

    Trans Difficult Shifting into gear(AW4)

Disregard, turned out to be a linkage issue. Tightened everything up and it's all good again.

    Trans Difficult Shifting into gear(AW4)

91 Jeep Cherokee, Automatic(AW4) trans. The trans is very difficult to shift into gear(not physically hard, but very finicky), there are no defined clicks or anything to get it into gear, and really favors reverse and neutral. You just kind of pull back and once the engine revs a little, you...

    92 Jeep Cherokee XJ [5.5", Long Arms, 33's, d30/8.8] - $3200

1992 Jeep Cherokee Pioneer I need something less extreme and nicer looking. I just don't have the time or money to go wheeling and I'd rather see it go to someone who will use it for what it's built for. THE BAD: Rear CV Joint is going out, just making the card in spokes sound, it's not shot...

Engine Control Fuse 1 Keeps Blowing

Okay, so I'm about a foot away from beginning a part-out. I did all the wire tracing I could. I got it all running and went and jiggled every connection and loom of wire I could see. I checked every length of wire that was even remotely near anything that moves. The most I found was an open...

D30 Yoke Removal / 8.25 yoke same as d30 yoke?

Just as the title says, is the pinion yoke on the Chrysler 8.25 the same as the stock Dana 30 yoke? One of the bolts broke off in my d30 yoke(I was wondering why I had front end noise) and I can't weld a nut on there(I tried). I have my old 8.25 laying around and if I can save $30, that'd be...

Engine Control Fuse 1 Keeps Blowing

 The Engine Control Fuse 1 is in the PDC under the hood, it cuts power to the Ignition Coil for sure, and I think it cuts power to the fuel pump, but I have the stock fuel pump wiring bypassed. So for me, it cuts power to the ignition coil, therefore no spark and no start. The starter and...

    Fuel Pump Wiring Burning Up

Alrighty then. The fuel pump stock wiring has been bypassed by the previous owner. If the wiring burns up again, I'll start with that. There's also a 10A inline kill switch that hasn't burned up. thanks for your help/suggestions. The Engine Control Fuse 1 in the PDC blew. Again. For the...

    Fuel Pump Wiring Burning Up

fgjbrnwejltwbfkdsgnrbgkja, sbdkjf Replaced fuel pump a few weeks ago. Stopped working the next morning. Wiring from the positive terminal to the positive on the fuel pump(in the tank, about a 4" piece of wire) burned up. It was caused by a short, and it was my fault. Replaced that piece of...

    6 lug unit bearings

http://www.napaonline.com/MasterPages/NOLMaster.aspx?PageId=470&LineCode=BRG&PartNumber=BR930045&Description=Hub+Assy+-+Front+Wheel Dakota's do have unit bearings, and are 6-lug, but appear to have a 4-bolt mounting system rather than our XJ 3-bolt. Good thought though.

    JEEP LOCKED?

The steering column is probably locked. It happens. Just force it forward(use the wings on the ignition cylinder, not the key). It should go.

Why? The advantage of WJ stuff is the dual diaphragm booster.

Selling my JK, going for an XJ - am I crazy?

I've driven my friend's Rubicon JK, and honestly, I'd rather drive my XJ, even with its dead steering box. There are plenty of people here who daily drive their XJ and use it as a weekend warrior, myself included. Although it gets frustrating sometimes dealing with things breaking, it's...

    Regearing vs 8.8 Swap

This is the issue I came to when I decided to regear. I ended up going with the 8.8 swap. I paid a little over $200 for the 8.8, ~$100 for the ruffstuffspecialties swap kit(which could be pieced together/improvised for alot cheaper), about $20 on paint and grinding wheels, $15 on diff fluid...

    Jrc 1 ton problem? *pics*

That's normal with an inverted-t setup on our Jeeps. Order some new poly bushings(which is what looks "out of place") if you're noticing slop in your steering. If you have someone turn the wheel while you watch that TRE, you'll see it roll, it just happens.
