I am going to be replacing my radiator and waterpump tomorrow but I want to flush out the system as well. What is the best way for me to do this, with the old rad still in and then just swap in the new rad?

Yes, electric fan is working and I will replace thermostat tonight. Does it sounds at all like a water pump issue?

**** UPDATE **** I replaced the mechanical fan clutch, and my problem still persist. The thing that confuses me is that it's not a gradual heat increase, it will be sitting at the correct temp and then just spike suddenly? It usually sits at the first red warning line and then just drops off?

The jeep is new to me and the PO said something about having the cooling system flushed. The fluid levels are fine. Good info on the heater core bypass I will def look into that. How would I check for a vaccum leak?

No, the jeep seems to reach normal op temp in the correct time. The AC condensor is infront of the radiator correct? I believe the hissing is coming from there... again I'm so green when it comes to anything HVAC, cooling, etc... thanks for the help guys.

The hose in the picture comes out of the firewall and then has a 90 degree turn facing the ground. This hose does not hiss, it only has a constant flow of air coming out of it when the engine is on... My thinking is that potentially this was affecting my vaccum system and is partially to blame...

Hisses when on and then for about 20 seconds when off and only happens once the engine heats up. I believe my radiator has a small leak. But, as you can see in the pictures that hose leads to nothing and blows constant air out only while running

No, the hose terminates in the engine bay and is just streaming air. I'll get a pic in the next hour. It looks very unatural.

Sry, 1999 XJ, 4.0L, 160,000 kms (100,000 miles) I also noticed that there is a hose that comes out on the lower passenger side of the firewall in the engine bay and it is constantly shooting air? Is this normal? I've never noticed it before... I can snap a pic later if it helps.

I just installed OME 3" Ultimate kit from DPG (awesome transaction) and recomend OME to EVERYONE! I've had BDS, RE (aal on monotubes) and I like OME the best by a bit. It is a firm ride but not too stiff and the shocks are pretty awesome too.

Update, dropped the tank last night and the plasctic collar was loose! The pump was just sitting loose in the tank?!? This explains both why my guage was off and why fuel came out the top when I fully filled it. I replaced all the filters and the fuel pressure regualtor but the pump was fine...

Update to this post for future searchers. Well, I know it's been a while but I've had no time to drop the tank since the fishing season here is hot right now I've been spending all my free time fishing :) On these forays I'm going from sea level to 5000 feet above sea level and back down...
