    Best over-the-knuckle steering

I was running about 9" of lift on my XJ. Before I uprgraded to D60's, I was using the Terra Flex hi-steer knuckle and links. The Aluminum links were okay and I never had a problem with them, but if I was consistently running serious rock, I'd change them out for some DOM tubes. The geometry...

    4.56's or 4.88's

In my opinion, 4.88's with 35's definitely. I went from 4.56's and 33's to Dana 60's with 5.13's and 35's. Rev's are right around 2500 at 65. I drive a lot of highway and I'm thinking I should have gone with even steeper gearing. Keep in mind when it comes to gearing and tires... 35's are more...

    Possible 0331 Cracked Head ?

I had a 0331 head crack. I didn't realize it for awhile and I was unaware that these heads had problems. There were no signs of a leak other than missing coolant. No milky oil, no external leaks, no exhast smell. I figured maybe the heater core was leaking a little or something stupid. I...

Anybody have steel wheel out of round?

I have two sets. 1 set of 15x8 soft 8's, which have about 50K miles on them. And a fairlly new set of 17X9 soft 8's. Both sets are perfect. I haven't been exactly easy on them either.

    NoSlip install- carrier removal

I had a warranty issue with my Powertrax in my 29 spline 8.25. Which Richmond warrantied with no questions. I didn't have to pull the carrier to remove or install the locker. I also did 4.56's. You will have to grind a 2 teeth down in order to get the pin back in. ( the benefit's of C-clip axles...

    LP dana 30, lock-right & 35" tires

I had a LP 30, lock-rite, 4:56's, 33's. I couldn't keep axles in it. Lots of carnage. One time I was crawling out of a river bed, up a 20' high steep hill withe lots of big roots... From slipping on the roots, I popped a u-joint and had to back down into the river. No big deal, right? WRONG...

    recommendations appreciated

ahh, I figured it might be. I got mine from the dealer. I forget how much it was. If you want to replace it with rubber (i'd just buy it from the dealer. It works and its no headache then.) as long as you stay with the same diameter, run it so it doesn't kink, and get it to seal properly... It...

I changed out my 2000 XJ water pump and rad. And I noticed that the steel tube thats threaded into the pump was rusted really thin (almost through). 2 of my friends had the same issue on their 97 XJ's. When I got the remanned pump from NAPA, it did not come with the tube. Might want to keep an...

    Modified braking question

I found that the bore size on a WJ mc is 25mm...Pretty much the same as the xj's 1". Are all WJ booster/master's the same? Or is there a specific year I should buy?

    Modified braking question

Can you put the brake pedal to the floor if you try? If not, how far off the floor is it? I do a lot of heavy towing with my xj and the last thing I want is to run out of pedal. Thanks for all your help, guys. I ended up finding the figures I needed on a online parts site (racepages.com) they...

    Modified braking question

Any body have a bore and stroke size of an xj mc? And does anyone know what size an f-350 mc is? -I cant seem to find the actual sizes anywhere. If have these it will be easy to calculate what the perfect size will be for my app. I'd like to calculate/figure and get it close to dead-nuts...

    Modified braking question

Thanks. I figured I'd have more line pressure but more pedal travel. Which is what I wanted to stay away from. I also don't want to have to raise the hood from using a bigger mc. Maybe I can get creative with it and machine a adapter plate to mate the ford mc the the xj booster and drop the...

    Modified braking question

Okay. What kind of mods are we looking at using the dual dia. booster, and dodge 3500? Brake pedal, fire wall (bolt pattern). And is the dual booster out of the Dodge 3500 or are you talking about the xj dual dia. booster? How much does a hydraboost run? Coins not an issue but I like to...

    Modified braking question

Scenario: I'm going to be putting D60's under my 2000 xj. I just finished narrowing, and loading the gears and lockers. I'm running 5.13's and 35 SSR's (for now). The front is a out of an f-350 and has dual piston calipers. The rear is a 35 spline semi-floater out of an E-250 van an it has dual...

35" tires + stock steering OK or NO GO?

I was running Rock Krawler 3 link with 33's, 4.56's , and lockers on the 8.25 & d30. I wasted my factory steering. Then I "upgraded" to the Rock Krawler..It was wasted in 6 months. Then, I bit the bullet and order the Teraflex Hi-steer conversion which works awesome. The only thing I would...

    Rock Krawler longarm

3 yrs ago I bought a Rock Krawler 3-link. First I had the 6.5 in and then I later upgrade the coils to the 8" and had to use a 1" block to lift the rear. (lift blocks suck!) Anyway... It really performed great, rides like a caddy and the articulation is incredidible for a almost bolt-on system...

    gear install kits

Randy's Ring and Pinion has always been great for me. Between me and my friends, we've purchased about a dozen gears sets and install kits. Their service is great and the prices are too. Jay takes care of ya. ext # 5558.
