    Driveline angles

Hey guys, I'm getting a driveline vibration and I decided to measure my driveline angles with a digital inclinometer from work. I've posted my angles in the picture below. Now from what I've read, if I'm running a CV driveshaft, which I am for the front and rear, my pinion should be 1 to 2...

    Front pinion bearing replacement

I can't find anything on madxj about pinion bearing replacement... only the seal... I don't mean to hijack this thread, but I think I may need to do this aswell....

AC Problem, Clutch randomly turning off?

Same here - Remove one washer. Take you 15 mins to do and it will work.

    Tcase drop on 6" 98

I just had the tcase opened up and put back together not too long ago (shift fork blew up on me), and the bearings seemed awesome. How do I check if the axle pinion bearing is good? Shaft is good, I've had it balanced, then swapped out for another one, all ujoints are good too. I got...

People break 231's over and over...

My 231 failed me... it blew apart while towing my tent trailer up the mountain. From what I've seen in the wrecking yard it looks like there's a factory defect of cracking of the case as I found 2 or 3 in the wreckers with cracks.

    Tcase drop on 6" 98

I'm still gettin vibes out of my driveline yet all my angles seem to be good along with my shafts are solid... Would a t-case drop of 1" be something to consider here? Oh yeah I forgot to mention I do have an SYE in the rear along with RC drop brackets and adjustable lower control arms

Front Drive Shaft as Rear + SYE (Minimum Lift?)

I just recently had this problem in my 98 with a 6.5" lift. Turns out I had a bent yoke on the output on the tcase for the front drive shaft. The vibes would only appear when doing 65 mph, now they're almost gone (glyde coat on the slip yoke of the shaft is worn out)

    NP231 max 4x4 speed

Not that I know of. I do however think that the previous owner blew the front Ujoint on the axle side.... Hence why I think it might be a bent yoke. I didn't know that you could bend the shaft inside the tcase... I thought it was hardened steel...?

AIR Conditioning blowing HOT AIR. help!

I doubt this will work seeing as you have a brand new compressor, but who knows if they adjusted it at the factory or not... Check to see if your AC fan is kicking in... if its kicking in and the pump isn't engaging, then try the following: Remove the center nut from the AC clutch. The...

    NP231 max 4x4 speed

ok cool. I've been having issues with a front driveshaft vibration and I want to see if maybe I have a bent yoke ok the transfer case side as my front drive shaft is SOLID, it does not move whatsoever. I've tried 3 different shafts, and replaced the front yoke with a new one with no success...

    Remote Start

Has anyone done a write up on installing a remote start system in an XJ? The local parts store has them on for $30, so I'm thinkin about picking one up.

Its getting hot! Time to get the air conditioning working!

So when you're using that Red Tek recharger kit, how much oil do you put into the system?

Its getting hot! Time to get the air conditioning working!

Well the clutch definately looks like its pretty worn out. I can't find anywhere that replaces JUST the clutch, everywhere I call they want to sell me a new compressor unit. There were two washers spacing out the clutch disc, so I removed one, and it looks like that solved the problem. I also...

Its getting hot! Time to get the air conditioning working!

incase anyone was looking for it, the gap for the air conditioning clutch (for a 2000 xj) should be between 0.41 and 0.79. Heres a link to a PDF on the 2000XJ air conditioning http://www.scribd.com/doc/3503854/Jeep-XJ-2000-24a-Heating-and-Air-Conditioning

What is the proper gap on the A/c clutch supposed to be?

Its getting hot! Time to get the air conditioning working!

This sounds pretty similar to what I'm getting. I'm going to try and take apart the clutch tomorrow and see if its all rusted up or not. Before doing that I'm going to take it out and get it to the point where the clutch is not engaging anymore then check the volts coming out of the connector...

Its getting hot! Time to get the air conditioning working!

YEah I think I found it, and I tested it and while running its providing 13.4v to the compressor. Once I plugged the connector back in, the clutch engaged... So I'm wondering if maybe i just had a bad connection between the two connectors... Has anyone done a write up on how to charge the air...

I've even tried swapping the relay with the fog light relay (same numbers) and nothing, all the fuses look good too....
