I currently have the RE1345 lift springs in the front of my XJ... Perfect height, but after I did the Clayton WJ swap onto my D30 and gussets, the coil springs are a bit of a tight fit in there. I just measured with some calipers and they measure at 5.375" OD right now.
I'd REALLY like to get...
I'm asking in this section not because I have a prerunner but because I think this crowd probably will have the most experience with rebuilding shocks...
Anyways, I'm running Bilstein 5160's and they're in desperate need of a rebuild... there's simply not much dampening happening anymore. I...
History:
2001 XJ
0630 Head (freshly rebuilt)
Totally redone cooling system
New battery
New fuel pump
Otherwise it’s pretty stock
When the HVAC is set to defrost, the jeeps runs fine. When it’s changed to most other positions, the idle drops really low (like 400or less) for a bit (maybe 10sec)...
This is on my friends XJ:
'00 with reman 0630 head (still using the original distributor-less ignition)
New fuel pump
New injectors
New plugs
New wires
New waterpump/thermostat/hoses
New radiator
New O2 sensors (cat still intact)
Keying on/off a couple times prior to starting doesn't affect...
It's a long story but a friend of mine ended up with an 00 XJ with the typical 0331 cracked head. He wants to fix it and between him and my brother and a few other XJ guys, we have an accumulation of parts that I think we can make something out of but I wanted to run it past all you first to see...
Does anyone out there make a 7pin plug and play style harness for our XJ's or do I need to buy the 4pin harness and run the extra wires myself? I'd prefer an all-in-one style harness for the 7 pin but all I can find is references to the Reese 4 pin kit.
I wired up my rail shifter today and it works, but something is weird and I think I crossed a wire somewhere.
The shift pattern on it currently goes:
4
1
2
3
I'm thinking that's not the way it's supposed to work. Haha
Ill pull it all apart and check my splices but I figured I'd post up my...
I am thinking this is not normal, but when I first noticed it on my XJ then I checked my on brothers and his was the same... Is this a problem or should I be swapping in a new booster. The brakes don't feel bad but they also don't feel awesome either.
This picture is inside the jeep looking at...
What are my options for fender flares on my Xj? Cut and folded rears and an Arb snorkel up front.
I like the bushwacker flats but I doubt they'd work with cut and folded rears (hopefully someone can tell me they will!)
I think the rustys flares would work but I kinda think they're ugly...
I have a 98 XJ and the aw4 transmission in it. I am replacing my tired old aw4 with a minty one from another 98 that only had 50 000km on it.
I have my old one out already and I'm getting ready to bolt the new one in and I'm curious if there's any start up procedures I should follow? I assume...
I have been running the RE hack n tap on my np242 for the last 5 years or so. Lately I've developed a driveline vibe that I've tracked down to the flange on my hack n tap being a tad bit wobbly. Tightening the bolt that holds the flange on doesn't seem to help so I think the splines inside the...
Im 99% sure this isn't the typical TPS issue because I've tried two new ones in the last week... One cheap one and one mopar.
Jeep is a 98 4.0/AW4
Anyways, here's the story... About a month ago I washed under the hood and I'm pretty sure I got water in the TPS. A p0121 code showed so I went...
Info:
I am running 8" travel FOA 2" smoothbody shocks on all 4 corners of my Jeep... these shocks have the heim ends in them rather then rubber bushings.
Custom made mount on the axle end and a bar-pin-eliminator setup on the top end of the front shocks (both are double shear mounts).
Rears...
I swapped in a rear axle from a 2005 Ford Explorer Sport-trac last year. I put new brake pads and rotors on at that time (front and rear).
I had my wheels off recently and decided to do the brakes again after seeing some ridges worn in the rotors.
Interestingly the rear pads were worn almost...
My 98 is taking a long time to start... It has a brand new fuel pump, o2 sensors and crank position sensor.
It will never start the first time I turn the key on. It will just crank infinitely.
Once I try cranking it and then turn the key off and then on again it fires right away.
I tried...
I have a 98 XJ and the drivers side marker lights aren't working... front, side and rear. Brakes and signals work fine, they all have new bulbs and I checked fuse #7 in the panel... thats what my manual says should be parking lights... is that the one or is there a different fuse for the...
Well it wasn't me that was rear ended, but rather my brother. I'm posting on his behalf...
Anyways, he was rear ended today and the guy hit his tow package and bent it up pretty good as well as the rear frame rails. Initial estimates for repairs are in the $3000 range and they only address the...
I'm just watching Top Gear (UK version) 17x03 and they are taking the Land Rover Evoque through death valley to Las Vegas... anyone have any trails or gps tracks or info on how they got through there? I'm from Alberta and my wife and I were just discussing another road trip down south this fall...
It's been warm up here (+8*C) for the past few days so all the snow has been melting on the roads... I put on a lot of hwy miles on my Jeep so it quickly got covered in slime and road salt.
Yesterday it got a bit colder out and the forecast is for it to continue to get colder still so I...
I am looking to build a new set of LCA's for my XJ and I want to run a factory OEM rubber bushing on one end... I know I found a few vendors that sell the right size sleeve for them but I can't remember for the life of me who sells em... any help on tracking them down?
