I currently have the RE1345 lift springs in the front of my XJ... Perfect height, but after I did the Clayton WJ swap onto my D30 and gussets, the coil springs are a bit of a tight fit in there. I just measured with some calipers and they measure at 5.375" OD right now.
I'd REALLY like to get...
I'll keep you posted. Cal and I have been PM'ing but we've both found the same information (or lack thereof).
I'll probably just have to dig into one of my shocks and compare the internals with the 7100 rebuild kit and see if it'll work or not.
Based off everything I've read, the piston...
I'm asking in this section not because I have a prerunner but because I think this crowd probably will have the most experience with rebuilding shocks...
Anyways, I'm running Bilstein 5160's and they're in desperate need of a rebuild... there's simply not much dampening happening anymore. I...
That makes sense... I'll check on those things this weekend.
I have the Autoenginuity connector and software package and it shows me the graph output of the O2 sensors (which shows high and low points as well as the frequency and the average reading) so testing the O2 sensors is pretty...
AC compressor is deleted currently. Idle is usually around 900rpm IIRC...
Cleaned the replacement when I put it in from my other jeep. Wasn't too bad at all... just a fine film of black on it. No thick sludge or crunchy buildup at all.
Has a brand new battery in it... but I did a check just...
I'll start looking into a few of those things.... but I forgot to mention that the AC is deleted. No compressor... just the delete pulley on it for now until we have funds to do a full AC service in the spring.
I could believe that the coolant sensor could be dirty... it had a cracked head...
Maybe related, (I’ll let you be the judge); but it’s always had a long start condition. It’s odd... doesn’t go away when I prime it multiple times. Still a long start. Only seems to start nice when it’s sat for a long time. Like 2 weeks. Overnight or over a weekend and it still has a long start...
History:
2001 XJ
0630 Head (freshly rebuilt)
Totally redone cooling system
New battery
New fuel pump
Otherwise it’s pretty stock
When the HVAC is set to defrost, the jeeps runs fine. When it’s changed to most other positions, the idle drops really low (like 400or less) for a bit (maybe 10sec)...
Also forgot to mention:
new timing chain and gears
new oil pump
0331-0630 exhaust adapter plate
new head studs
His XJ had the long start issue before the head swap and again afterwards
Haha oops. My bad. Was just looking at my receipts trying to make sure I didn't miss anything important... but the wires were for my XJ (98). You're correct, his has no wires.
I can try to get some numbers but his Jeep is 50km away from me right now... sooo... what else should I look for next...
This is on my friends XJ:
'00 with reman 0630 head (still using the original distributor-less ignition)
New fuel pump
New injectors
New plugs
New wires
New waterpump/thermostat/hoses
New radiator
New O2 sensors (cat still intact)
Keying on/off a couple times prior to starting doesn't affect...
It's a long story but a friend of mine ended up with an 00 XJ with the typical 0331 cracked head. He wants to fix it and between him and my brother and a few other XJ guys, we have an accumulation of parts that I think we can make something out of but I wanted to run it past all you first to see...
I've tried some searching but since Jeep released the new Cherokee and they had the old Grand Cherokee badged as simply Cherokee for a while it seems to find harnesses for those jeeps rather than for my 98.
If I add 98 into the search, I get anything and everything related to trailers and...
Yeah I need brakes.
Basically the PO had installed a 4pin and then did his own brake wiring and ended up with a 7 pin. He did shoddy work and I'm always troubleshooting it am messing with it.
I just want it fixed for good and I was hoping there's a kit out there for a 7pin harness.
It...
Does anyone out there make a 7pin plug and play style harness for our XJ's or do I need to buy the 4pin harness and run the extra wires myself? I'd prefer an all-in-one style harness for the 7 pin but all I can find is references to the Reese 4 pin kit.
I have the same genright tank in my XJ and I'm very happy with it.
Fit and finish is top notch and I had no issues with my install. I don't have a tail pipe so I never had the issue the OP has with it.
I'm not sure I would have spent the coin on this tank originally, but I did some work for...
Yeah there was a small clearance issue on the mounting bracket itself. I just removed the bracket and removed material from it until it fit. It was pretty straightforward really.
I'm going to guess its off a grand Cherokee... The pulley is wider (has more grooves in it for a wider belt). You can run your normal XJ belt with it, but it won't cover the whole width of the pulley. I've been running mine that way for a few years now.
As for the connector issue, I can't...
