atleast one of the axle shortening write ups on here has info on using a waggy axle on the short side and an early bronco axle on the long side. this alows the use of off the shelf parts and puts the axle at about the perfect width for an xj. i may be backwards on the axle placment...could be...
tire diameter has nothing to do with it. that much lift is way too much for the stock steering. it severly limits droop and you will risk breaking ends if you flex it too much. not to mention its sloppy on the road due to the increased angles. with all the money you have already spent just do...
advance adapters makes an adapter to bolt the trubo 350 to a 207 case. i own one bolted to a s-10 207. cheaper that way. good luck keeping a v-8 cool.... i tried. worked great on the road but would not stay cool offroad.
if you build your own engine mounts, you can use stock driveshafts...
two 97 or newer xjs in trevorton pa.... one was white with md tags, no flairs, and 33 or 35in tires. other one was darker in color and lifted about the same. i was with all the vehicles thatshowed up about 9am. i was in the blue comanche with 35s and winch on the front.
ive been running these brakes for almost a year and have had no problems with heat at all. i also have not had problems with anything in the dust sheilds either. and no matter were i wheel there is always mud...ALWAYS!!!
but you could cut most of the sheild away and still have the center...

there is a small dashpot on the rear of the tch that is used to calibrate it. hook up another good tach that you know is right and turn the dashpot until the two match. rreally simple... its how i used a factory tach with my sbc 350.
i would have to agree with cal on most everything he said. but cal, i think you need to keep in mind that us east coasters dont have the rocks that you do. i have tacoed stock uppers and lowers but im harder on my mj than most people.

case #1 would be the one without th front output. the only reason to shift that case would be for crawl or 2wheel drive low. case #2 operates normally. case #1 is used for the doubling effect or 2lo only.
