    AW4 & 231 w/sye value

Looking to offload these and wondering what an average fair value would be. They're still married and in working order; PO told me that the AW4 had a manual shift mod and I've got the wires for it somewhere. Thanks

New water pump = instant overheating.

Bingo, fellas. Wrong pump impeller orientation. The Napa part # stated it was for V-belt. I bought the serpentine model and all is well. Even though my rig is v-belt. Odd. That wasted several hours of my life, and some hair that I need to keep ;) Thanks.

New water pump = instant overheating.

I just tried a new radiator cap, to no avail. Again, the lower hose gets real hot, and the top does not. The thermo housing does get hot, however. Real hot. I'm really confused now, and was supposed to be driving this to work in the the morning (like 4 hours from now.) It sure seems to me...

New water pump = instant overheating.

My '86 2.5L xj has been down since June for misc work. I got her going again tonight, with a new water pump, reverted from header back to stock exhaust manifold, etc. She overheated as soon as the motor heated up (she's never overheated.) So I installed a new thermostat, same issue. The lower...

Creating a High Pinion WJ Dana 30

Yup, I do have a lot of stuff already for a 30, including spare 4.88s. I do not have the time or money to further invest in D44 territory at this point, for this jeep. A dana 30 is where I'm at right now, period, as cheap as possible. Picked up the entire WJ axle for a good deal. Now, the...

Creating a High Pinion WJ Dana 30

After some quick measurements, I found that: *Spring perches are spaced 1" wider overall on the WJ 30 (1/2" per side) *CA mounts look nearly identical *JK wheels fit perfect, but would need a small spacer to run a tie rod flip kit. *Stock WJ drag link is about 40". It would need to be apx 36.5"...

Creating a High Pinion WJ Dana 30

The buckets sit higher, apx 2.5" it appears. But just by looking at them side by side, the width spacing of the rest looks very close. Need to do some more measuring tomorrow.

Creating a High Pinion WJ Dana 30

I have a a complete WJ 30 that I was going to rob the knuckles/steering off of for my 95 XJ. But now I'm rethinking my options. What would be wrong with taking my spare HP 30 center and pressing the WJ axle tubes on? Pros: [LIST] *Maintain a HP configuration, current 4:88s/locker. *I have no...

    Need new coil buckets

Sleeving is a good idea.. Yes, 37s on a 30. Was looking for used 35s on a budget and ended up with the 37s, which ride and look very nice on JK wheels. It's not my wheeler really, mostly on the road/logging roads etc. I don't have the time and $ to build a 44.

    Need new coil buckets

Building the dana 30- Stretched the front a couple inches and need new coil buckets that will place the springs directly above the tubes. These may fit the bill, but are for a 3" tube... http://www.ballisticfabrication.com/Link-Bracket-Coil-Spring-And-Shock-Mount-Combo_p_1461.html Looking...

    Rear frame damage- Bit hit

Took some pics today, but the 'posting rules' at bottom left say that 'I may not post attachments.' This is my first time trying, but I've been on here forever. Someone steer me as to what to do? Thanks

    Rear frame damage- Bit hit

Running an early Trailready rear bumper with factory '95 gas tank skid and extra bracing inside of rear frame rail for rear bumper. Took a VERY hard hit (20mph?) to rear driver side bumper (rock wall) and taco'd the whole jeep a bit. The main damage is to the frame right in front of the the gas...

Lost headlights in XJ & Dodge after using accsry heater??

Strange happenings... Both heater cores are out, so while in the '97 Dodge 3500 on a road trip, I picked up a cheap (worthless) accessory heater that plugs into the cig lighter from a truck stop. Next morning, no headlights... only marker lights?? So fired up the '95 xj and used that heater...

    Heater core leaking... again

Yeah, That wasn't a smart move. I'm thinking I may have had an electrolysis issue that caused all three to leak, due to old coolant and maybe poor grounds, which I'm addressing now. After this time,I hope to never have to change it out again. It's a real pita..

    Heater core leaking... again

95 XJ, 4.0 I'm on my third heater core.. The last time it leaked, I pulled it and resoldered the leaking joint, and it lasted about a year, until I blew it out with compressed air when flushed the system. What is the best built brand of heater core out there?

How to check harmonic balancer, '86 2.5L

Just installed Brown Dog Poly Motor Mounts on my rig, torqued to spec, and have LOTS of vibs. One suggestion on Brown Dog's website is to check the harmonic balancer, but I don't know how. It's a two door with the back top chopped off, and the vibes I'm getting are almost as loud as the...

Muffler drone / exhaust advice needed

So... finally mounted a header to my '86 2.5l 2-door, which has a 2.5" collector, reduces to 2.25" to a flowmaster 50 series just in front of the rear axle (no cat.) Then its the stock 2" up and over the axle to exit near the pass side shackle (may replace this portion, due to small hole and...
