    Cage mounting surface?

I think I want a traditional cage, which does not block any doors. I am now thinking of ways to mount it to the floor. I usually see the floor plates, on which the tube is welded, and which are bolted to the floor using four bolts. Well, I got to thinking, and there really isnt any protection...

    97+ homemade security center console

so, with doorless time coming around the corner, I started to think about security, because I don't know about you, but I don't want little pricks scouring my Jeep. So naturally, I thought about the center console. I looked at the Tuffy website, and while they sell stuff for XJ's, they only...

k, I need some real effing advice.....

all started a week ago, with a random slippage of second in my aw4. It feels like it's in neutral. It revs fine, and after some clicking, like a metal on metal creak, it engages then goes fine. It's not every time it goes from first to second, or anything that I can test, it does it randomly...

    god dangit...

So, after a couple hours of wheeling, I noticed something. Randomly, I will go to press the gas, and it feels like the torque converter hasn't locked out of gear, it basically feels like I am in neutral, but only for a second until it catches, and then pulls. It has only happened three times...

    44 pinion yoke

any reason I can't drill out my 44 pinion yoke to accept u-bolts? DIY is much more appealing to me, though I will buy if I have to. I know tellico sells new yokes, if I have to get one.

any reason for me to run 33 spline shafts?

As the title states, is there any reason to run them on my D44 in my case? I will run the 'con at some point in the next year, and may be upgrading the 35's (maybe). The axle is getting locked and disc'd, so I dunno if the locking will affect it, other than I know it will limit locker choices...

    riddler cover the best?

I am getting new shock mounts for the 44, a new cover, and u-bolts today, but want to know if Riddler is the way to go for the cover? Any thoughts/links to other good ones?

    Stubborn D44 shafts

posted this on JF yesterday, but I could probably get more help here. was working on my D44 sunday, I removed the passenger drum (will be replaced with discs anyway). Then I removed the four bolts holding the flange against the drum backing plate, which in turn held against the axle tube...

    next snow-run?

I really want to go on one this winter, would have gone this last weekend, but I was previously engaged in Hollister, which didn't turn out well anyway(long story, girlfriend's grandmother died, had to leave early). Anyone want to make a run in Feb sometime (just not the weekend of the 10-11, I...

    started work on the 44

High clearance shock mounts in progress. Drivers side: I have the passenger side almost flush, and the drivers side fully flush, but no updated pics yet.:bawl: Quick question, should I be able to find ZJ ABS discs, could I mount the caliper bracket onto the existing drum mounts, or...

    Thanks, Nick!

To everyone who doesn't know, NickAngus sold me a D44 today for a very reasonable price, I won't go spouting how much, but you can be assured it was reasonable. Then, as we were shooting the shit about our Jeeps, he realizes that he had extra old tires, and I realized that I needed one for a...

    hmmph....

Lately (since probably 12-30-06), the heep has had real problems starting. At first, it would get dash lights, air, headlights, dome lights, and such, and the starter would click only once. I was able to remove the negative terminal, put it back down, and it would start weak, but start, and...

Anyone have a rear XJ D44 they're looking to get rid of?

I hope it's ok to post this here :dunno: I am looking for a rear XJ D44 housing, preferrably with the races and such. Basically, I am going to lock, alloy, and regear anyway, so I was wondering if anyone possibly had a housing for sale, so I don't buy parts that will go to waste. Shoot me a...

    t-case skid

pulled a t-case skid from a junkyard the other week, got around to installing it today. I know the OEM way to install is with nutserts, but with just thread-starters hanging around, I decided to go with those. Do you think two of these through the frame rail would be sufficient to hold that...
