01 with the original head? Likely cracked.
I had the mystery coolant loss on my 01. Only other issue with the engine was the heat soak on a hot restart. Never really gave me any running issues. No coolant in the oil. Seemed to just evaporate off or maybe end up in the cylinder/exhaust
You...
I've been somewhat unimpressed with a couple JCR parts I've gotten over the years, but I think its a consequence of their growth and success more than anything. They at least try to help make things right when there is an issue.
I'd look at Dirtbound Off Road. Quality is great and the pricing...
Before I swapped the TJ Rubi 44 in the front of my 01, it had a HP30 swapped in by the previous owner. With a slight lift (also installed by the PO) there was no interference between the pinion snout and exhaust.
Took mine out today. Slight wobble in the steering and the ac is dead again.
Starting to feel like I spend more on maintenance than using it. Maybe time to move on.
A local windshield shop should be able to get you one same day. Last time I did it, it was about $150 installed. Not sure online is the best source for a large fragile item.
I did that as well the first time- didn't even think about it until years later when I needed to drop the tank. I was much more intentional on the re-install.
I have a factory skid, with a JCR Bumper and the HD Offroad Shackle Relocators. They all fit together no problem. I think I may have...
I went with Windy City Cylinder Heads off ebay for a remanufactured TUPY. Price was a bit better than Clearwater with better reviews as well. Has been on my Jeep since early 2021 with no issues.
Actually had some time to work on mine last night.
Got the front leg on the slider properly trimmed to fit with the long arm brackets, halfway welded the backing plate back on. Should finish that tonight then I can do the other side.
Also found a set of WJ knuckles with the spacers already...
Don't forget you have 4 O2 sensors and they're all around the precats on the bottom of your manifold.
There is NO O2 sensor at the rearmost cat on an 01. So changing that cat out and geting rid of the others will net you a CEL.
I went with the magnaflow precat setup on mine. Its well built.
I've heard of using heat on unpainted black/gray plastic bumpers to restore them to their initial shine.
But I don't see that working with painted clear coat. I think your buddy may be misinterpreting when this can be used.
