Yeah, mine has cruise as well. but if the later model matched up, I see no reason the earlier models wouldn't either. I'll be glad to hear from someone with an older one, though.
I have a big quandary on my mind. I recently had my '96 XJ broken in to and the steering column torn up to the point of needing to be replaced. My jeep does not have tilt steering (or so I thought), and the shop I took it to said the non-tilt column would cost more to order in as they are...
I'm taking the Jeep to a local garage this weekend to get the steering column fixed up. Just need to get the heap to drive again.
Still looking for the rear door window and some help getting it in.
Just went out to try and start it up. The mechanical parts move like they should. I can place the key cylinder into the ignition switch and turn it, but there's no power to the column. I won't be going anywhere.
I have had the worst luck the past year. My previous XJ had a run in with a car and a tree and was sold off. Now my replacement has been vandalized and almost stolen. Whoever did it was a complete moron, though. There is NOTHING missing, and he left his screwdriver behind.
However, I am left...
I got in the dash and found the answer, there was a secondary harness adapter between the stereo and the jeep's wiring harness. This combined the rear speaker lines to the front speaker lines. I took it out as there is a limit on space inside, and my after market stereo is unusually deep, and...
I'm working through the minor gremlins in my 'new' 96 XJ I picked up. I don't have the Owner's Manual, so if someone has a link to a PDF of the Manual or an image and description of the Fuse block under the driver's dash, that would be great.
What I am working on now, the rear wiper arm was...
I'm not too worried about the existing head unit. It's the basic factory install, AM/FM only no cassette. I have a Parrot RKI 8400 I'll be putting in as soon as I won't be freezing my fingers off while doing so. Thanks!
Thanks. How about for the fader part? Am I going to find the front and rear wires crossed together on the harness, or is it just disabled within the head unit?
I've done some searching, but can't find the details I was looking for. I just picked up a 'new' 96 XJ. Base model, no sound bar, and pretty sure no tailgate speakers. I plan to find a junkyard sound bar to put in, and add some 6.5" 2-way speakers up there like I had in my previous XJ. I...
Funny thing on that paper. I sent the form to the wrong state. The Jeep is Registered in Texas, but is originally and still titled in Colorado. I forgot that I did not retitle it when I registered in Texas 7 years ago. New form is being sent to Colorado, today.
Neither rear door can currently open, but they are intact. The pinch seam trim is blocking them in. I have tried opening them both and they do still work.
