Has anybody successfully rebuilt a steering box lately? I've already drilled and tapped the box for hydro-assist and all I need to do it put it back together. I've sourced 3 kits locally one each from Autozone, Oreillys, and Advance. All three of the kits are identical just re-boxed...
I couldn't find anything Jeep specific when searching for the answer. What I could find, mostly import stuff, it was a toss-up some said no because they are torque to yield and some said they reused them with no issues. What is the general consensus when it comes to the 4.0?
I've had some issues with rear springs wrapping instead of compressing. My last set of springs had completely flattened out so I ordered an antiwrap bar kit from Ruffstuff. I swapped in some modified 97-03 F150 springs, which are nearly identical to Mj Leafs, and rather than destroy these...
So I was getting ready to refresh some springs for my mj, when I took them apart the rear retainer bolt and sleeve had left quite the impression on the main leafs. The deepest point is probably around 1/16". I looked at getting new mains made up at a local spring shop, but even the guy running...
I ordered an SYE for my MJ and now I'm in need of a new rear shaft. I've looked around and read some not so great things about Inland Empire Driveline. So I wanted to see what type of experiences some of you have had or what shop you would recommend. Also, would it be a better idea to have a...
I know its an odd request, but I am looking for a Dana 44 flat top high steer arm to borrow that I can use for dimensions. Or if someone has a CAD DXF/DWG/MCX file or blueprint they could send over that would work too. I'm not really concerned with a specific side and it will only be needed for...
I have some black off - brand suspension seats with tubular frames. Fabric is bad $50 obo.
Iron scorpion bumper reinforcement plates. A must for an aftermarket bumper that only utilizes the stock three bolt mounting. Just needs paint $20.
A brand new Warn 5/16×100 winch cable. Model number...
My cousin's 98 4 banger TJ hums very loud under acceleration above 15mph and gets progressively louder from there. The whine stops when you take your foot off the gas. I'm leaning towards a rear pinion. I know its not an XJ, but I figured it is okay to ask here because its close enough, lol...
I started my tire carrier, so far I have the main swing out, hinge and latch done. My question is can I weld a small tab to the Destaco latch and drill a hole to run a padlock and make it lockable? Would the heat ruin the latch?
It would basically look like this.
So I have a shell on my Mj, and I want to get the spare out of the bed, The truck is already tall enough and I don't want the spare on the roof. I already have a rear bumper that I fabbed up a little while back, I will be making a few subtle changes and cleaning it up. I have been wanting to...
I currently only know of ASCO Metals, but they will only sell in 10 or 20 ft lengths. I do not have the need or the storage space for that much steel. Does anybody know of a local place that sells by the foot at good prices?
I recently purchased some Trail Gear sliders for my MJ. The only issue I have with them are the legs, they are the same 1 3/4 diameter as the sliders themselves. When butted up to the pinch seam there is about a 1 inch gap between the rocker and the slider. Would it be okay to flatten the seam a...
The relay turns on, I even switched them around, I tested the pump outside and it works, but there is no power at the pump and the truck just cranks. If it matters it matters it does not have a ballast resistor.
