Your problem with the MAP sensor was not at all typical, in fact it was the only one I know of. Very rare I'm jjust throwing things out there for him to try,just might find his problem.

try this,unplug electrical connector from map sensor,try to start it,my 92 cherokee did this and wouldn't run with the thing plugged in.unplugged it runs.maybe your battery is getting low,could need to be recharged,will cause all kinds of problems if PCM isn't getting the proper voltage to the...

ok,i got the spline input out of the 89(231).wasn't to bad.now if i can get it to go into my 92 (231).it does make perfect sense that the 23 spline input shaft would go right over the 21 spline output on the tranny.i put the 21 spline input shaft up to my old 92 aw4,and it is alot thicker.won't...

i have a haynes manual,they show me everything i need to know.i took the four bolts out of the 89 231,how do i get the spline cover off to change the input gear? there are notches on both sides for a pry bar,but it ain't budging,they also have it siliconed.

yes it moves in park,what the hell.i didn't have to adjust the shifter cable,i used my 92 shifter cable just unbolted and bolted it back on the 89 AW4.

does that mean the linkage isn't right? or the input splines on the transfer case have to be changed.
