Just pulled the CEL codes (forgot I could do it, too used to my own '89), and I pulled a 12, 22, 51, and 55. The only one that has me worried is 51 (Oxygen sensor stuck at lean position), but the o2 sensor is brand new.

Nowhere near any records, but.. '89: 157,000 miles '92: 227,000 miles '95: 178,000 miles The drivetrains on all 3 are original, just regular maintenance items on all. '89 runs the best though :).

Try using the human power locks, press the little black switch forward on every door that is unlocked. I have 2 Jeeps that dont have power windows or door locks because I think they are both failure prone and unnecessary.

Checked the right front caliper and pads, everything seemed in order... no leakage around the piston, and everything was where it's supposed to be. The pins (whatever you call them, what the caliper slides on) were a little stuck, but I greased them up and put it all back together. Havent taken...

I just went for a drive, and the pedal dropped all the way to the floor again, and the brake light came on again, and there was a big clunk from the right front wheel. I think I will look there first for my brake problem, maybe a broken/dislodged pad or a messed up caliper. Jeff

A combination of out of round tires and bad control arm bushings. New tires and control arms fixed the problem.

I think I will do that... I'll take apart and inspect the entire front disc brake system to make sure all is in order. I put new pads on about 3 weeks ago, and the problem showed up about 5 days ago, but something could have possibly shifted. Thanks for the suggestion. Jeff

They changed out the Peugot for the AX-15 half-way through the '89 production year in the XJ, so late year '89 XJs can have the AX-15. I have heard that they kept the Peugot tranny in the YJs until 1991.
