I got a used 91 a/c compressor from a salvage yard, and I think they may have switched the valves when the screwed them back on. It is a Sanden 709T. There are two ports--one labled "S" and one labled "D". Can someone tell me which port is low and which is high? TIA
Does anyone know if the a/c lines out of a newer XJ with r-134a have the same size fittings as a 91 with r-12? I was going to try and run by a salvage yard to pick some up if they will swap right into my jeep.
Alright, I removed the old compressor and replaced the receiver/dryer but I have a problem. The old compressor had the valves attached to the back and the compressor I have that was out of a 94 has different size connections. Am I going to have to have the a/c lines out of a 94 to use this...
Almost a year after converting my r12 system to r134a, the compressor gave out. I got a hold of a used r134a compressor out of a 94 XJ, and I was going to do a swap. What different A/C components do I need to replace when I open the system up? Can I charge up the system myself with cans of...
I went by a local Flexsteel outlet here in town and found some material to use. The material is very similiar to what the spare tire cover is made out of. I found some gray that matches pretty good, and I am very pleased with how it came out. It seems like it will be a lot more durable than...
What is the best approach to recovering a headliner? Does anyone know where I can get some of that material that has foam in it? I thought I remember a website for a company that sells it put I can't seem to find it. I appreciate it guys.
I need a new headliner in my 91 XJ because this time it was beyond recovering. There is a local junk yard that has a couple 99 XJs, and I was wondering if anyone knew if the newer year headliners will fit in the earlier years. TIA
My 91 XJ was working fine last night. I had to replace the battery a couple months ago, and I had autozone check my alternator which is charging fine. This afternoon I tried to start my Jeep and all it did was click a couple times and that is it. The dome light doesn't work and the car...
The driver side window on my 91 XJ will roll down almost all the way then it gets real tough and the handle just spins and clicks. For a week or two before it finally gave up it was just would almost stick then keep going down fine. I looked inside the door to see a shaft that looks like it...
By the first position, I was talking about the first blowing speed setting. The fog comes out on all the a/c settings. While I have the system all vaccumed out for the R-134a conversion, do you think I need to swap out any of the a/c parts?
Lately I have noticed that I can see the air coming out of my vents when the A/C is on the first setting. It looks like a fog coming out of the vents. About a year ago, I had what looked like deteriorated foam blow out of the vents a couple times and then it stopped. I am thinking about doing...
I have decided to go ahead and install the budget boost with AAL and new shocks. I am thinking about Rusty's kit, and I am not sure what type of shocks. What are some good shocks that will work, but are inexpensive? I am working on a tight budget  . TIA
I am about to replace the four shocks on my 91 XJ. It is a daily driver and the suspension is stock. What is the best type of shock to put on these XJs? Is it going to be a complex operation or is it pretty basic?
Thanks Guys
