That's a sweet looking car. What's he have done to the motor? Trans? Gears?
I agree with Bill, if you want to keep it in the family, figure out a way to finance it or something or get him to hold out for a year.
Seriously...I was always amazed by that.
"The truck falls apart around the motor"
Well no shit if you buy the worst quality parts and throw 37-40" tires on them with double the factory power.
I always loved telling people that my '01 2500 Cummins could do 90k on a set of ball joints, which included plowing my driveway and at times even driving 45 miles to work with the plow hanging over the front end (along with that monster of an engine).
I honestly think the 37s and lifts people...
What year was his? Most people with the HD trucks never put them through their paces, so no surprise they last a lot longer. I don't know many people with new chevys or fords to know if they have any issues. Chevy has ~200 lbs more payload in the same configuration. Ford payload looks to be...
 Honestly amazes me how many people hate on FCA for quality.
My Ram is technically the only FCA vehicle we have, and it's only been back to the dealer once for a creaking drivers seat. 34k miles on it. Everything else is perfect.
I have to say, it's awesome that they offer a manual transmission. Sucks that the base price is almost $50k though.
For that money, I'd just get a Charger Scat Pack and stick the extra $10k in my pocket. Sure you can't get a manual trans, but the 8 speed auto is pretty sweet. Oh and 485hp is...
Yup. My best time was a 14.18.
Still learning how to launch the car and it was hot and humid yesterday.
I'm sure once I figure out how to drive it and go on a cooler day I'll do better. Hoping I can break into the 13s at some point.
I didn't play with tire pressure either. I think they...
Eh I'm sure you can do a cam/headers or whatever if you really wanted more power. 395hp with an 8 speed is definitely fun even in a 5500lb truck lol.
Is the 10 bolt really that weak? The Ram 1500s only come with a 9.25 that I've never heard of any issues with.
Get that tuner.
Do you plan...
I can't launch the car, just blows the tires off. That's mainly what keeps the thing from being any quicker. That and being a pig at 4k lbs.
Don't they make 4WD adapters for the T56 or TR6060? If it's not a dedicated trail rig, I don't see the issue with using one for that.
Full case locker up front for strength in a D30...it's the weakest link.
I had a powertrax no-slip in a rear D44 I had in an XJ years ago. Just like a lunchbox locker, except it was dead quiet. Never heard a ratcheting sound from it at all.
Similar specs to my challenger except I only get low 20s. Best I've gotten so far in the 3k miles I've put on it is about 23mpg. I average about 20mpg driving like a complete dickhead. I love that it does that on 87 too, no need for expensive fuel.
When's the 5.0 happening?
Looks nice...
