My 2001 XJ has a problem when you turn it off after driving for a while, then start it up again...it will idle very ruff and backfire if I give it to much gas. After a while it will run fine. Any ideas? Peace

I was taking my girls to school yesterday morning and I looked down and my check engine light was on. All gauges looked good so I checked my oil level and it was good. I drove about 80mi. yesterday with the light on..... any ideas what it could be? Thanks for the help!
