Thanks guys, I'll check the ground and the temp and check back.

    Electric fan not working.....

Yes I've wired the fan to the battery and it runs, so the motor is ok. I know the AC needs a recharge cause it blows hot air. But the fan should still work when the engine temp calls for the fan to run right even if the AC needs a recharge. I'm running out of ideas

    Electric fan not working.....

Thanks for the ideas guys, so far no luck. I'm going to get my AC recharged and see if that has any effect on it.

    Electric fan not working.....

So I'm at a loss. The aux. electric fan on my 1998 XJ is not working. I got a new relay and put that in...nothing. I checked the 40amp fuse in the distribution block....its fine. I connected the fan to the battery with some wire and the fan works that way.....so the motor is good. The temp...

I searched...I failed. Windshield Wiper Fuse?

I have the opposite problem, I can't get mine to stop. I took out the washer fluid container cause my tires stuffed and hit it. Then I hosed down the engine compartment cause it was way dirty and now the wipers won't stop. I'm guessing I got a relay wet but I couldn't find the relay or fuse...

    231 issue and I've searched....

I have a 98' XJ, AW4 and a 231 with a SYE kit in it. Last year I broke the front output off the original t-case. My brother in law gave me his old 231 out of his mid 90's YJ. Spline count was good. I pulled the mainshaft out of my XJ 231 and dropped it into the YJ 231 I was given. All...

Yeah that makes more sense, thanks.

    Improve your shackle angle

Will these still work if you have a hitch on the back? I see they use the hitch mounts but will the hitch lower them down too far? I know its only going to be what maybe 1/4" for the hitch mounting plates but will that cause a problem with the shackle bolt hole, can that just be opened up some...

    Help with front end clunking

Sometimes it can be related to something else but not always. An out of balance tire/wheel can really throw things out of wack. I'm running unbalanced 38x14.5" SX on my XJ right now and without the hydroassist steering I know I'd have horrible death wobble from them on the street. And I'm...

    Help with front end clunking

An out of balance tire/wheel can cause the harmonics nesessary to create death wobble which is the "bouncing and shimmy and I had to pull over" not the wheel its self shaking so bad. But the out of balance wheel will cause a slight shimmy that will create the death wobble.

    Help with front end clunking

Your old 27's could have been way out of balance and caused the shakes and the new BFG's are balanced well.

    Help with front end clunking

You got a case of the death wobbles. That can be a PITA to figure out. Again check every bolt/not and make sure they are tight. Another thing to check is to make sure the drag link and the trac bar are working in the same plane. If they are not on the same plane/angle that will cause the...

    2000 XJ - Negative Camber

Unibearings are the wheel bearings. They are held onto the knuckle by three bolts that you get to from the back of the knuckle. They are just what they sound like, a sealed bearing unit all packed together and in must be replaced as a unit. Take it to an alignment shop and see what they...

    2000 XJ - Negative Camber

Also check the unibearings, if they have play in them they will cause the tires to sit that way and can definately cause a vibration or two. But they are not cheap so be prepared for it if you have to get them. While 12/6 play in the tires definatey could be ball joints I would guess its...

RE 5.5" extreme duty long arm kit

Yes you get what you pay for. R.E. is top notch and you won't be disappointed with it on the street or off road. I vote for the monotubes or bilstein 5100 or 5150's either one. My buddy ran a Rough Country lift on his XJ and it was as bad as my old ProComp kit I had. It was ok but you get...

    Rustys Suspension

YEs and no, they make 7.5" coils which I have on my XJ right now, I have my own custom link set up but I'm running the 7.5" coils and the longarms crossmember, for the rear I have custom 10 leaf National springs and a small block. Give CT a call at Rubicon Express. The number is (916)473-4617...

    Who has done the Rubicon?

I live just over an hour from the Con and it is my home in the summer. You will have a blast. My first trip through 10 years ago was in an XJ with a 3" pro comp lift and 31's open front and rear. I remember it like it was yesterday. I was scared out of my mind for half the trip. But I was...
