Is the stock XJ lower control arm bushing insert removable?
If so, how?
I need to re-fab some CA and needing to remove the rubber bushing so I can weld the DOM tubing to the bushing case without melting it.
Tried squeezing them out with a vise with no luck.
Meet up with a few folks at Glimer this Saturday for some lite wheelin.
The heep still needs a cage before I flop it over. :rof:
Not much rockcrawling, but just a bunch of step ledge climbs.
Small ledge climb
A little stiff in the rear with the RE leafs pack & drop shackles...
Anyone have some good dovetail pics of a XJ or MJ? I'm looking to what would be the best way to cut the rear fenders wells.
I'm also considering doving the front hood and fenders also.
Anyone flipped their rear leafs spring pack from the front to back for additional wheelbase?
Does it require new shackle hangers?
I already started cutting away the 1/4 panel and like to know what is all involed when doing this.
TIA!
Received my high steer arms this weekend. These sucker are beefy!
They have the angled machined at the ends of the arms to keep the studs beefy!
The passenger side knuckles are at the machined shop getting drill, tap and machined the top surface flat. Should have these sucker mounted next...
I like to get some ideas (pics) on the best method to mount a limiting strap on the front D44.
How are you guys mounting the upper mount? Did you have to fab. a custom cross member under the oil pan to mount the upper strap?
Now that I've a set of Chevy flat tops for the high steer upgrade, which Hi-steer arms do you guys recommend?
I know Partsmike.net has some nice one, but is there any others that a comparable to them but at a lower price?
I snap of few pics of a couple of well known (one is) XJ's at our annaul Rock Race this past weekend.
