Idle trouble - not the IAC

Solution was simple. Some time ago I was fixing some vacuum hoses as they were old, so I checked everything. I found the EGR valve disconnected, so I just connected it. The XJ had dirty injectors / tps, so the engine was behaving like crap. When it was serviced, it improved alot, but with the...

Idle trouble - not the IAC

Well, I found the resistor, it was under the airbox (not screwed to the fender like on the picture I found). However, the engine still stalls, I read a little bit more on this resistor, and I don't think it's the cause. In my case the engine starts smoothly, no trouble at all, but specially...

Idle trouble - not the IAC

But where is that resistor? I only found a kind of relay that has two vacuum connections and two wires, but nothing like a ceramic resistor. Any pictures? What's the exact name of this part?

Idle trouble - not the IAC

On the drivers fender? Wow, I'll check it out, haven't seen anything similar, but it's worth to check.

I Saved The Life Of Another AW4 Today

WOW, I really thought in the US it was possible to trust what shops tell you, but now I see it's just the same crap everywhere. Here in Mexico many stores want the part to be replaced to search for it. This is often annoying if you want to replace, let's say the distributor rotor (or something...

Idle trouble - not the IAC

I just replaced the IAC valve thinking this was the problem, but it's not there. My XJ starts immediately in normal situations, but the engine just stalls everytime I stop unless I slowly (very slowly) deaccelerate. It does it more when I turn it off and then, after one or two hours start...

Minimum lift for 33" tires wo cutting fenders

silverslk; I don't want to trim alot just for the same reason you have; the flares just look good and without them the XJ just doesn't look so cool anymore. Your rig looks fine, the rear tire doesn't seem to rub all that much...

Minimum lift for 33" tires wo cutting fenders

This looks fine; the rear looks OK, maybe a minimum trimming can do it; I have front the trimmed alot, like one more inch than shown in the picture, so I shouldn't have any trouble...

    Aftermarket clutch master cylinder options

Old_Man, that was exactly the thread I was looking for, thank you so much. How did the master work for you? Was it hard to install? By the way, is the part number 524-14S? I'm looking at this page and I am just asking because they sell it for braking applications...

    Brake master cylinder out

This looks like a great idea; I really don't complain about my brakes, but I have 30 tires and I'm upgrading to 33, so it could be a necessary update.

    Brake master cylinder out

The master cylinder is starting to fail (pedal just goes too deep sometimes and when I pump it works fine for a while). I saw a rebuild kit for 25USD at Autozone. Should I go cheap with such a rebuild kit or get the whole master cylinder?

    Aftermarket clutch master cylinder options

Some time ago I saw a post about an aftermarket master cylinder that can be adjusted to correct some issues with flywheel resurfacing, besides it looked more like the brake master cylinder (better quality). I am rid of the master cylinder in my XJ as it always leaks a little (it really isn't...

Minimum lift for 33" tires wo cutting fenders

Dadilius, It looks fine. Haven't you caused any body damage due to tires rubbing or hitting the fenders? Regards

Minimum lift for 33" tires wo cutting fenders

Well, it's interesting but I'm not 100% sure that a uptravel limit won't affect total travel. I agree that the downtravel of one side is independent of the uptravel of the other side; however, the sum of both will give you total suspension travel. That means that I would need revolver shackles...

Minimum lift for 33" tires wo cutting fenders

I have backspaced wheels already; I'm still not 100% sure if I should go for 32 or 33 tires. As far as I see, it can work fine with the 5.5", with minimum trouble. Any idea of how much difference it makes on the trail with 32 vs 33 tires then? I just don't want to lift too much as it's my DD.

Minimum lift for 33" tires wo cutting fenders

OK, thank's for the info. The post from RyanM is right, but somewhat out of subject. The D44 I'll be using will come with 4.10s, so I'll be upgrading the front to 4.10 (from my crappy 3.07s, I should need 3.75 with 33s to keep stock driveability, so 4.1 is not too deep for street and will...

Minimum lift for 33" tires wo cutting fenders

OK, now without bumpstops, what's the minumum? I'm looking for maximum suspension travel as possible, is this achievable with 5.5"?

Minimum lift for 33" tires wo cutting fenders

I'm just ready to upgrade my rear axle to a D44, and I'm ready to get my 3.5" lift to 5.5". My front fenders are cut out, so I'm positive (at sight) that I will be able to fit 33 tires there only having to adjust the LCAs. However, I'm not 100% sure in the back. The matter is that I don't want...

    Where to install rear speakers

Beej, that's exactly the point; I can find something at junkyards, but it's not easy; besides, my XJ has blue interiors so it's even more difficult to find a soundbar that will match (tan and grey are easy to find). Besides, I think the soundbar is for 6.5 speakers and I want 6x9. Am I right...

    Where to install rear speakers

The rear door idea wasn't considered. If it sounds well, I could consider it, but I would love to hear really from behind. The idea of having it like on newer Cherokees is great, but I have no idea on how I could achieve this. I don't know if anybody has done somethiing similar.
