    quick rim question

I have done the waggy D44 front and rear conversion. I used the steel "rock" wheels 15x8 with IIRC 3.5 or 3.75 inch back spacing. I also did the RK 3-link long arm at the same time. My point is this my tires rubb on the arms and limit my full lock turning ability, I had to put way longer...

    My HOMEBREW 242 SYE w/pics.

Fab on my brothers :) nice to see every ones custom work! For mine I just ordered the yoke from a link in one of gojeeps posts. Much thanks BTW! Then I had a local guy shorten it about 1.125". Then he made a nice thick tapered washer to hold it on the shaft. For the final touch he turned a neat...

Who was at the Cabin Fever Run?

I was there!! Driving my grey 90 XJ. I got there with about 118 miles on the OD after the "235's to 35's" build :). Then proceeded to run "Wet Willie" on the middle fork. I had a fair amount of clunking and banging (no muffler hanger). As well as the usual 4X4 noise, everything went awsome. I...

What mods did your jeep get this winter?

I started in the fall also. To begin with a 90XJ limited that needed an PS pump, valve cover gasket, damn busted seat.... But had lots of potential :) Long story short. Stock leaky turd to: Axles: Waggy D44's front and rear. With heavy duty trusses. 4:88's Aussie in back. Front open for now...

    Rockkrawler project question

I have recently installed a RK long arm upgrade kit on my 90XJ. I havent however got the "Creation" back on the road yet.. I am impressed with how heavy duty the components are. The Chassis mounting brackets are high quality formed steel. And the Arms themselfs are 1-3/4 solid CR1018 IIRC!! The...

    Installed my long arms

99XJACHE I understand the ache! I was wondering about the specs for your tire size, fender mods, and bump stops? I was wanting to try the 12" shocks my self. Just worried about the potential loss for up travel. TIA

    New SYE early 242 idea

I have been looking for the inexpensive way to deal with the rear SYE CV DS BS :) I was thinking to use the GM slip yoke, shortened and capped w/ bolt hole. And just machining my own seal housing out on a lathe. Does any one have the CR or National # off the RE housing ? TIA :)

    Installed my long arms

Not really.. If you look close the UCA "frame" mount is offset (down). You would need to locate the whole mount higher than the floorboard would allow. Or use a BFH and have the mount offset up into the floorboard area. This would change the INTENDED handling. Would it be enough to matter??

    Axle braketry/Front Suspensions....

I used the RK 3 link kit with an RK track bar as well. I used 1/4 wall 3x3 tube for the lowers. For the truss and the upper 1/4 wall 4x4 tube + 4 hrs screwing around with a bandsaw, welder, torch, welder etc. To get the proper c-channel shape. Then hopefully the "work of art" is still square and...

Can anyone tell me how their homebrew leafs ride.

I used all the S-10 leafes (less the helper) and all the XJ's. Went with the 1.5" shackle. Not quite on the road yet (really sucks!) I am anticipating the ride to be pretty flexable but still stiffer than stock. I used 1/8" x 2" UHMW that I had cut to be about 1/4" longer than the lower spring...
