That is true in a CJ-5. But an XJ has a CONSIDERABLY longer wheelbase (well over a foot longer), and the rear shaft would not be a problem.

Just get the ones from Detoursusa.com and you won't have to worry about them pushing in. Not to mention its probably cheaper than the combined cost of the three kits you listed.

I'll second that. Going with Detours on mine.

No puller. Take the brakes apart, undo the four bolts that hold the brake backing plate on. These also hold the shaft retainer. Once removed, the shaft will slide out. You might have to give it a yank, but it will slide out.
