The shank size is different from the dodge TRE and the stock jeep. The Allumiflex tie rod would have to allow for the 3/4" X 16 shank of the dodge TRE.

I travel up to the Yreka area sometimes. I have some family there they own Don's Sporting Goods. Don't know much about the wheeling in that area though.

I have a Hobart Handler 140 with no complaints. It will do 3/16" no problem. It says it can do 1/4" with multiple pass but I would trust my life to it. In my opinion its the best bang for buck welder out there only $449 at Tractor Supply right now...

Looks like I am out. Work needs to be done on the XJ and having to work 150 miles from home during the week has proved to make this task tough. The odds of me getting the Friday off are slim and its a long haul for me to get over there. I will still try and make it.
