i run a rustys 4.5" kit and i have 32's and have some rubbing, but only when i turn the wheels all the way. i love the look of 32's on an xj and didn't really want to have to do too much trimming.
i recently ordered and installed the rustys 4.5" kit for my 99 xj, and i love it. i actually got the 3.5" leaf packs because i knew they would sit higher, which they do, so right now i am perfectly level (but i have shackles if the back starts dropping down). the kit rides great and i have no...
thanks for all your help guys, i looked at everything you suggested and the brackets are fine but the nut on the trac bar was loose. now i don't know how tight it should be but i could move it with just my fingers. i shook the trac bar (while the nut was still loose) and i was getting play and a...
i have a 99 xj with a rustys 4.5" kit and a tcase drop. i have just put it on and i have noticed that when i am going extremely slow (like 1 or 2 mph) and turn (pretty sharp but not excessive) i hear a strange popping or hitting sound coming from right under my feet. i have looked and i don't...
i just put the rustys 4.5 kit on my 99 xj and i had an alignment done right after i was finished. the steering wheel is off center a little, and thats not that big of a deal because i can fix that with the tie rod. the thing that is weird is at one point the steering wheel will be off to the...
i would give it a try, i mean you have nothing to loose. Rusty is really a great guy, i have called many many times asking about his products and he has always been very helpful. Every time he says that if i have a problem with anything feel free to call and he will sort it all out.
yea thats what i am gonna do this weekend probably. but i am really impressed with this kit. before i had their bb with aal, which rode horribly. it feels much more safe and rides alot better. have you talked to rusty about the springs? i am sure he will replace them for you
ok so i have a 99 xj and i just finished installing the 4.5 rustys kit. now i ordered everything that comes in the standard 4.5" kit, but i replaced the 4.5" leaf packs with the 3.5" ones and got a 1.50" shackle. I thought that this would make it sit more level, for i saw many rustys kit with...
now this may sound really stupid, but i have searched and can't find it (i guess its well known). i am buy a set of cragar soft 8's with 4.75b/s and i don't know what size lug nut to buy. i am getting them off summit so if anyone could help that would be great. oh and do i need to get valve...
i guess i should add that i do not go off road a whole lot, i just don't have the time, so this is mainly going to be my dd but i need it for when i do go to the trails
ok i am been going crazy searching for what size tires to buy and i can't find anything (i have a 99 xj with a rustys 4.5 lift) i can't decide between 31" trxus (which are true to size) or 32" bfg mud terrains. I have heard that the 32's may require some trimming and i really don't want to do...
so i just went for a little fun out at some open muddy field in my 99 xj with a rustys bb. on the way back (caked in mud) the xj starts wobbling like crazy at about 50 mph. it goes away once i slow down but it still freaked me out. i called tire kingdom and they said to come in and get a tire...
