    Dana 44 disk brake conversion

I would like to preferably keep my ebrake. As for the choice between ZJ and Explorer brakes, is one a stronger or better brake? The amount of work required to fit each part aside I'd rather have the better of the two. I'm inclined to believe the ZJ would give me more brake power.

    Dana 44 disk brake conversion

Now before I catch a bunch of flack for not doing a proper search, I have looked and was unable to find a proper answer to my question. So, I'm getting things together to build up a rear dana 44 off of an '87 XJ and want to do the disk brake mod from a ZJ. Now, I seem to have a short supply...

    Gremlins in my automatic transmission

I had a similar problem on my little 2.8L and it was the throttle position cable sticking. She would rev WAY up before gearing down but was normal when she was hot. Nothing like doing 30kph @ 3700RPM. I just gave the cable a bit of lube and it went away...

Front end Vibration at higher speeds, Front axle Ujoints?

I had the same type of thing hapen. It turned out that little piece of lead that made my wheel nice and balanced decided that it no longer wanted to be part of my Jeep and thus launched itself off into outer space.

    1985 Cherokee 2.8 V-6 4 Door Auto, Engine Tips

Hey, I'm running a 3 spd auto on my 2.8L and I have been looking at moving over to a stick. I've heard rumour that you can jam a Borg-Warner T-5 5-speed in there. I'm just wondering if this is true. As much as I love Wiki I'd like to be sure before I get into this.

    carb problems

Hey, since we have a thread about carbs going I was wondering if anyone had any experience with Weber carbs. More specifically, the Weber 38 DGES. Since I installed it I've realized that it kicks total ass but when I do a hard right turn my engine chugs or even stalls out. It is worse the more...

    carb problems

I'd definetly check the float valve for sticking and the float itself to see that it actually floats and is not bloated with fuel. Fuel pressure would be a good place to look too.

does anyone have a 2.8l cherokee

I have one but I'm kind of using it right now. Whats up?

Door check assembly for front door

Well, pick n'pull was a bust for heated mirrors. Maybe next month... But what I did notice was that the later models have a more rounded mirror to them. I don't really want to replace my little box ones with a nice sleek one as it will ruin my little cube on wheels look. It is possible to find...

Door check assembly for front door

Ahh heated mirrors, living the dream. I don't supose anyone knows where to pick up a heated mirror for an '84 cherokee. It seems any I find are for the late 90's and beyond. Sure, I may seem lazy wanting some but having to getting up at 0430 to go to work when you live in Canada... well you...

    Vacum Diagram

I know all to well the problems with the vacuum lines on the 2.8L. But just like everything else I've seen, the autozone link only has the emissions control system diagram. Does anyone have a COMPLETE diagram of all systems and how they interconnect? HVAC, emissions, that infernal selec-trac, etc.

    high idle help!

I'd say that you have a vac leak just from my nightmare of a time with my carb. As for dropping the Rochester... I went for a Weber 2bbl. They make a nice drop on kit.

    Rear Defrost Fuse Blows

I had the same problem last winter. My problem was that the wiring between the body and the hatch had deteoriated and begun to short against itself and the frame.

    lil help here

Well, as long as the bolts haven't become stuck in the bushing (oh, what a joy that can be) you should be able to just lift up your rig, then lift up the axel just enough so that the tension is off and suported by a floor jack. That will line up the holes so you can just pop the bolt out and...
