I was really hoping it might be the cause of my slightly "lumpy" idle, but having read a multitude of threads - it sounds like these 4.0 engines just have this normally
You know, when I bought it and tried the AC, it didn't really blow as cold as you would expect given the refrigerant had just been replenished. Need to try that out..
Ha that is an EXCELLENT guess actually. I just checked and a very similar vacuum line is securely fastened to the valve, so no dice there.
However, I looked a bit more and noticed that this valve is missing a connector. So I hooked it up and it's a perfect fit.. this bears the question...
As I've been getting my new to me cherokee in tiptop shaped, I noticed the little wire and plug disconnected in the engine bay. Anyone have any clue what it is and where it should be connected?
Having just done this I feel your pain. I literally was pulling up my own body weight trying to pull apart the upper and lower dipstick tube. If you look lower on the dipstick tube you'll see where the junction is. Honestly it just takes a lot of yanking and swearing to get it off. disconnecting...
wow - thanks, awesome attitude - that's really called for. I ask a question that is not clearly answered via a search and after looking through tire and wheel threads here, jeepforum and jeepsunlimited and I get flamed by people like you. I'm glad there are forum members here like joe_peters...
It's cool I don't have any friends :laugh3: so no worries there. So to be safe, you'd recommend sticking with stock tire size with that 4" backspacing? Looks like 4.5" backspacing will work fine, so with a 4" backspacing and stock tire width I'd imagine that it would work?
anyone else care to confirm? I've also posted this on jeepforum.com and am getting conflicting advice. From what they're saying there, the 4" backspacing will not work on a stock jeep but will with a lift.
If you look at the results, you'll see nothing answering my question - especially whether that wheel size will work on a stock XJ - of course an aggressive backspacing will fit on a lifted jeep, but I am mainly concerned as from what I understand the 4" backspacing that's available for these...
Planning on getting a set of chrome cragar soft 8 wheels for my XJ. It's completely stock with no lift and want to make sure everything fits before I place my order. This car will never hit trails, so I best case I'd like a tire that is low noise, wears decently (but understand if I want good...
I have had good luck with wheelskins steering wheel covers on a bunch of different cars. They're stretched over the steering wheel using stitching which is pretty easy to do - just need to make sure that you really tighten the lacing well for the best look. People have been surprised it wasn't OEM
Well how about we can both be right :) I just really dislike them. Really want to get a set of mickey thompson alloys, but the street tires I think would look pretty lame with them, and being that it's a street only jeep throwing out a perfectly good set of tires with around half their life just...
