yeah its the one by the axle actually. its got like a good 1/4" of play to it. Tried tightening down the straps but it didnt do anything. I think the u joint caps must be worn out or something. I'm thinking I'm just going to get a new DS at a junk yard.
I was inspecting my Jeep today and found a lot of play in my front driveshaft where it connects to that cv joint by the front axle. Do all four sides of the joint have clips in it? Because mine looks like its missing two clips on two sides of the u-joint. Either it supposed to have clips or...
Guys, I am trying to track down a shuddering that I am having while I am braking. The rotors are about a month old...but they are scored already..not sure what to make of that. Dont seem warped by my eye and straight edge. Anyways I am looking over all my steering components and I noticed my Tie...
thanks man, it just seems like Chiltons tells me to put my Jeep on stands even if I just want to check my dang air pressure or change my muffler bearings.
Chiltons says to put the jeep on jackstands to remove the trackbar. I have done this before but didnt really think it was necessary. This weeksend I am installing an adjustable trackbar and a new mount and I am wondering if it is really necessary? Thanks guys.
My rear leafs were sagging so I got the hd leafs from quadratec. They sure did lift it up an inch if not more. I then got 1 inch poly spacers for the front to level it out. So I came out of it with a 1 inch lift and it looks great
I didnt do it for an alarm it was for a digital guage that tells me performance info so all I needed was the ignition 12v. I dont know how you would wire your alarm to disable the starter
I wired a guage of mine to the 12 volt ignition by tapping into the one behind the radio. The wire is labeled. I just cit it and made a three way splice. I remember I had to add some wire in there because the wires have no slack. I used wire nuts and black tape myself.
I belive that it is mostly engine braking. next time you are on a straightaway with nothing in front of you, put it in neutral and get off the gas. You will notice it does not slow down nearly as much.
I'm installing a Autometer D-pic gauge and am using a pillar pod as a mount. This gauge needs three wires to splice into. 12v power from Ignition switch, ground, and the headlight dimmer switch lead. I have a 1993. I have three questions.
1.) How do I remove the front left pillar trim. do I...
