    Thanks for all the replies guys, so are the tail cones and inputs both interchangeable from 242 to 231? I think that's what I understood from someone's comment.

    First I have to apologize cause I know this has been covered somewhere but I can't find the info I need. I'm finding mixed info everywhere.. I am swapping out a bad 242 for a 231. I have a 1995 auto. I have read about the 23 spline and the early models having the vacuum lines for front axle...
