Well don't everybody respond at once
The tail sections are different. Left is 98+ right is Pre98 Note the sensor holes are very different:
No special tools are required to pull the rotor. It's ratained via snapring. Note the length of the new style rotor. Also note the size and...
Ok, I have looked everywhere behind the dash on the 98 and I can't find the TCU. Are the new ones a part of the ECU? Looks like I'm swapping speed sensor rotors to make this one work. Do I need a puller for this or can I get the thing off the shaft by hand? I guess I'll find out shortly but...
Hi guys, swapping an aw4 out of a 98 into my 96. Of course the wiring is different. I found the writeup on how to swap the speed sensor rotor from the older aw4:

My question is this - I have a donor 98 xj with a spare tcu. Would it be easier...
Wheels are off a ford explorer, so just a little more B/S than stock. Agreed on the drop brackets, I'll be making some shortly. I'd love to slow down over the pot holes, but they don't pay me by the hour, so I gotta make time. I thought MOOG was good parts... since that's cheap, what do you...
They develop tons of play and the whole steering knuckle moves in and out at the top. When I took the moog's out after 10K miles, they looked like they had 300K on them. I admit I hit a lot of pot holes, but is this normal?
So what's the verdict... do spring rates have an impact on balljoint...
Which deaver coils? I searched and found a reference to this: CSC9B $196.24 pair.
I do all my own work, so I installed the moogs as well as the trw's. I've done this before and I have the proper tools, so I'm pretty sure I didn't f-up the install.
Some people say RE coils have a pretty soft...
Hi everyone,
I have a 96xj with about 5" of lift. I have Rusty's 4.5" springs up front and comanche SUA spring packs in the back (I kept my main leaf and put the mj pack under it). Up front I have fixed lowers from rusty for his 4.5" lift kit, and adjustable uppers. I have an adj. trac bar with...
I'm not sure you could ever get a grease gun on the lower one without pulling the axle shaft out of the way. The ones on my jeep now are not greaseable on the bottom, just on top. Clearance is really tight under the u-joint.
Well, I just re-checked the alignment. It was at 0 degrees toe. I adjusted it 1/8" toe-in (1 degree) just to be safe. I did the prybar trick RichP mentioned with a friend, and.... yeah there's play in the balljoints. When my friend pries up on the tire the balljoints on the drivers side move...
When I replaced the TRE's and steering box, I aligned it myself. I have done this before, so it's not new to me. I have the front set to 0 degrees. I do however drive on a lot of dirt roads with pot holes, so it could have gotten knocked off. I'll go check it again right now and post results...
Hi guys, my front tires are wearing really fast, and on the inside edge. I have just replaced all the tie rods and tie rod ends, steering box and trac-bar. The rear tires are wearing fine. I rotated them up front and 2 months later I have major wear on the inside again, and they are cupping from...
Hi guys, I have a quick question - why do some places recommend that you do NOT use heims on a trac bar? Are heims weaker than TRE's or is there something special about the trac-bar application? Which one is stronger - TRE or heim?
Thanks

My friend has a '96 grand cherokee, and last week he hit a deer with it, and now needs to replace pretty much the entire front end. We found all the parts he needs at www.jeeppartspro.com except the headlight buckets (if that's what they are called). I'm talking about the metal "bucket" that the...
That guy is nuts. $63.50 for a piece of pvc pipe with a cap and a little square of perforated sheet metal? Good idea, but what a rip off in price. What did it cost him to make? $5 for 10 of those?
