my jeep did the same thing in reverse, and it ended up being a short. It was in the harness under the hood that rubs around there> i was able to see where the plastic and coating had rubbed and melted a little and fixed it myself with some electrical tape and zip ties to keep it from rubbing again.

I have sort of the same thing on my 99, I just turn the key and let it build pressure for a few seconds and havn't had a problem

yeah, something is wrong. I lifted mine 3" with out shims and I don't have any need for a TC drop,and I don't have that much sticking out. same rearend for me.

that is wierd, I don't think the last guy knows what he is talking about. Maybe the leak is coming from the front seal?

I had a problem like yours, but only when I was backing up and turning right. It turns out my wiring harness was rubbing on my fuel rail. I opened the harness, taped up the expossed wire, and zip tied it higher up, check for a wire rubbing under the hood.

yeah, cause our jeeps don't aready have rust problems. I have mine wrapped in black tape all the way out of the enine bay. it helps alot. Don't be guessing negitave nellies
